Which Tablet is the Most Popular?

It is of course no surprise that tablets are gaining a lot of popularity among consumers and therefore there will be a lot more traffic coming from these mobile devices. Increasingly, webmasters, online entrepreneurs and affiliates are making tablet friendly versions of their websites in order to increase conversions by ensuring that users get a page that displays properly on their device, thus boosting overall user experience. But which tablet is really the most used among consumers right now?

Recent numbers show that while Android based tablet devices are gaining a bigger market share day by day, there has yet to be a significant increase in web traffic from these devices. Therefore, as many could have guessed by now, the iPad is currently at the top of tablet generated traffic. Market Watch recently published the results of a study that was done by mobile publishing firm Onswipe. According to the report results, over 98 percent of tablet based traffic was generated from the iPad. This means that less than 2 percent of traffic is coming from other tablets. Other sources tell a similar tale. A Tech Guru study shows that 94% of all web traffic from tablet devices involves users with an iPad.

There are some other interesting facts that came to light with the study. Users on an iPad are a lot more likely to spend time on a web page. In fact, iPad users spend 56% more time on a site than iPhone users. This can be explained by the bigger screen and better suitability for web browsing of the device, which makes it more comfortable for users to actually spend time reading what’s on a page.

As for time spent using the device, the Kindle Fire from Amazon actually outranks the iPad. However, this shouldn’t come too much as a surprise to online marketers, considering the fact that the original Kindle was meant to be used as an e-reader to view books and documents, rather than as an internet browsing device. This is something that is still seen today. A lot of users who have a Kindle Fire use it to read books and online magazines and spend very little time browsing the web, even if the new version of the Kindle is in color and offers web browsing, plus integrated social networking functionality. Unless Amazon’s device gains a lot of market share in the near future, this isn’t expected to change much either.

What does all of this mean to marketers? Users of iPad tablets spend a lot of time browsing the web with their devices and it is rapidly becoming a replacement for the full featured PC in the hands of many users. Developing websites that are compatible with the iPad, as well as creating advertising campaigns that are focused towards the users of this tablet are some things that marketers can do to profit from it. Of course, it is possible that Android based devices may pick up some steam in the coming years, but for now, they still have a lot of catching up to do.

This might be something desirable if you are launching a temporary website that will only be making you money for a few weeks and you don’t care about what happens after. But if you want to build a long term online business, then these tactics are to be avoided, since you will get slapped down by search engines eventually.

  • Make Your Site Easy to Navigate

Both search engines and human visitors love a site that is well structured and has an easy navigation. Therefore, create simple menus that will lead your visitors to different areas of your website that they would want to see. Also, it is a good idea to create a site map and include a small link to it at the bottom. True, most visitors will not use it. In fact, it has been almost 10 years since I last looked at a site map when I was visiting a website. However, most experts on SEO would agree that including one would increase the chances on getting a good ranking with search engines. There are many software programs as well as scripts available which can create one automatically for you. Since it takes very little effort on your part, this is not a step that you should neglect if you care about your website’s position in search engines.

These are some of the two basic ways that you can employ to keep your website ranking high in search engines, or to help it move up in rankings if that is your goal. Their advantages is that they will work, no matter what changes search engines bring to their website ranking and scoring algorithms. Of course, this requires a bit more effort than simply putting up a web page and some ads. You will also need to deal with rejection quite often. However, when you do direct marketing, this is all part of the game and simply something that you have to live with.

To accomplish that, you first need to make up a list of potential clients who look like they could use your services. Here again, there are numerous ways to make that happen. Check out online classified ads sites for local small businesses, such as hair salons, car dealers, plumbers, cleaning companies, etc. Do they have a website? If so, does it look like it was made by an elementary school kid for his computer class? Then you can offer them to redesign the site and make it look more professional and attractive. Even if they do have a site, you can still contact them and offer to promote it for them so they get more traffic and thus more customers. Another possibility is to print out a nice pamphlet with details about your offerings and send them to local businesses in your area.

Making Good Use Of PLR – Part 1

If you were looking for content to add to your website or for some ebooks that you can resell, then you may have come across someone selling PLR content. You may have been surprised that it is quite cheap or even free. In fact packs of PLR such as articles, ebooks, website templates, graphics, etc. are often given as a free gift when you buy some products in the internet marketing niche or you join a membership site about making money online. Can using PLR really earn you money, or is it just something that is good as “filler” content for your website?

As you may already know, PLR products give you “Private Label Rights”, meaning that depending on the license included with the content, you can do pretty much anything you want with it, including republish it, modify it, bundle it in another product, etc. This creates a wealth of opportunities in which PLR products can be used, some of which could indeed be very profitable for you.

Let’s take a look at PLR articles. Obviously, we all know that in order for a web page to be both attractive to readers and search engines, it needs to have regularly updated and unique content. PLR articles can help you with that. However, there are certain things that you should know about using them. If all you need is content for your site and you don’t care too much about SEO (i.e. you don’t expect to get most of your traffic from organic search results), then you can simply use the articles as they are on your site.

However, if you want to increase your ranking in the search engines, the content that you supply on your site needs to be actually unique. You will therefore need to rewrite it. However, we all know that rewriting content is far more simple than actually writing an article from scratch. You don’t really need to think up of original ideas, just say the same thing than the PLR article is saying but in different words. For example, if the original text is: “I saw a huge dog running on the street”, you could spin it to “I looked at the street and saw a big dog barreling through”. You get the idea. You can, of course hire a freelancer to do it for you. In that case you will save money, as rewriting is usually quite cheaper than writing original content. You can spin the PLR articles as many times as you desire to suit your needs.

Remember that you actually don’t have to use the entire article on your site. For example, if the PLR articles are 600 words each and you only need a 300 word blog post, you can use only parts of the article on your site. You can also split the article into two different posts as well.

Becoming A Merchant – The Other Side Of CPA – Part 1

Are you pushing CPA offers? Have you ever wondered who are the merchants behind many of the rebill/trial offers? Some of you imagine them being some large corporation, with hundreds of staff members and an owning an entire skyscraper in downtown New York. Nothing could be further from the truth. In many cases, these companies are owned by one main owner or a few people. They may also employ a handful of employees. But that’s it. How do they make money? And HOW could you become a merchant, rather than a publisher of CPA offers?

I will explain it to you in a simplified way. But a BIG word of caution here. This is not for the lazy. It demands some hard work and a lot of entrepreneurship. If all you want to do is whip together a web page with some nice graphics and call it a day, it is not for you.

What do you need? First: a product.

The product doesn’t need to be an advanced revolutionary breakthrough that will marvel people for generations to come. Nope, it can be something very simple actually.

There are 2 categories of products that you can base your business on: digital products (most commonly the “make money online” niche) and physical products (usually “health products” niche).

If you go with the digital products, what you have to offer is simple. A series of guides related to your “make money online” idea, i.e. earn with Google, earn with eBay, earn with Amazon, earn by being a freelance writer/online photographer/ etc. or a more general “start an online business” which explores various possibilities to earn money online.

The main guides don’t have to be groundbreaking and revolutionary. All of the information on how to earn money with various methods is freely available online. But you will also need to provide some content that will make the users want to keep their membership active month by month. This includes updates, new methods that are added, or services such as affiliate tracking services, PPC tools, etc.

If you go with providing a physical product, think of filling a need. People want to: lose weight, get rid of acne, whiten their teeth, etc. Now you don’t have to spend millions of dollars researching, developing and testing a product. Here’s some news for you in case you missed it: all of these health products sold through CPA offers are no better than generic stuff you would find in a natural products store or your local pharmacy. The rest is just hype. The “super results” and “great benefits” are based on anecdotal evidence at best, pseudoscience at worst.

What you need is to find a supplier which can provide you with the product related to your niche and simply apply your branding label to the packaging, and then send it out to the end customer. You start by offering a free trial, and if the user didn’t cancel, they get a monthly shipment of the product. Your profit margin will be quite high, since these products can be purchased in bulk very cheaply.
