A Virtual Staff Can Propel You To Success – Part 2

Whatever you are doing to make money online, chances are that you could benefit from having some people help you out with your projects. The thing is, while many of us would love to have our own office and have some staff members working for us, this is not always within the means of all of us. After all, if you hire workers, you will need to pay them an hourly wage, plus have to worry about things such as taxes, vacation pay, etc.

But, there is a way to make this possible. Instead of actually hiring people who will work in a physical office location, you would recruit a few virtual staff members who will be available to help you out with your projects. The main advantage of online outsourcing is that you won’t need to pay them a salary, you will just pay them to do specific projects when you need them. For example, you could pay an outsourcer $10 to design a logo or $50 to write the content for an entire website.

Of course, the question remains: where do you find people to be part of your virtual staff? There are 3 options.

Classified ads sites (Craigslist, Gumtree, Backpage, etc)

If you want to give local people the opportunity to earn money from home, then you can post an ad one one of these sites. Be sure to describe what the worker will need to do and what skills they will need to have (writing, web design, graphic design, etc.) Even though the economy is recovering, there are still many people who are unemployed and unable to find work in their field. This means you will probably get a few people who will respond to your ad.

The only downside is that you will have to pay them a bit more than if you found people on a forum or a freelancing site. But it will still be cost effective, as there are many people would be willing to work from home, even for $10 an hour.

Freelancing websites (GetAFreelancer, Freelancer.com, Fiverr, Microworkers, Odesk, etc)

These sites are basically marketplaces where service providers meet clients. You will post a description of the project and your requirements. Workers will then bid on the project and you can select one or more people to do the job (except on Fiverr, where all jobs are $5 and you contact people directly to see if they are interested in doing the work).

IM forums (Warrior Forum, Digital Point, etc)

IM forums have a section where service providers can make a thread detailing the services that they offer and clients can post threads detailing services that they need. IM forums are a great place to find people who will do some work for you on a regular basis.

Tomorrow, we will explore some ways to ensure that you are only recruiting the best people and how to manage the whole operation.

Selling Websites To Small Businesses? Here Are Some Quick Tips

Selling Websites To Small Businesses? Here Are Some Quick Tips

Do you market web site creation to small business owners? If you do you may have come across some business owners who are reluctant to get an online presence. Here are some of the most common objections and their responses.

I don’t want to sell anything online so I don’t need a website.

Even though you don’t plan on selling your products or services on the internet directly, customers who are interested in a type of product or service that you offer will search online for someone that can provide it to them. According to recent statistics, people of all ages are increasingly turning to the internet when shopping. You may have the best quality and the best prices, but if they can’t find you online, chances are they won’t even know your business exists and you may lose many customers that way. A website with just a list of your products and your prices can go a long way.

It is too complicated to maintain, I’m not good with computers.

Having a website doesn’t require much in terms of computer skills these days. There are simple tools that you can use to update your site with new information or products. It is very easy to figure out once you get the hang of it.

I don’t want to spend money on a website, it’s too expensive.

Web design, as well as web hosting services have gotten much more affordable in the past few years, mainly due to increased competition from various service providers and an increase in the number of customers that these providers get. As your website is a business tool, it will help you get more clients and thus get more sales.

If you run a small business that only provides one main service, such as a moving company, you don’t need a complicated website. A simple site with a description of your services, your rates, some background about your company and your contact information will be enough to inform your customers. You don’t have to get a site with fancy graphics, videos or multimedia content if it won’t be useful for you.

I’ve heard all of these stories about hackers attacking business websites. I’m scared this will happen to me.

Most of the news coverage surrounding these incidents is overblown by the media. The majority of recent attacks are not actually security breaches where private information was stolen, but rather denial of service attacks designed to flood a web server with data to bring it offline. These types of attacks are mostly targeted against large companies and governments by people who have a grudge against these entities for whatever reason. As a small business owner, your website is unlikely to become the target of such an attack.

I already advertise in the newspaper or distribute fliers with info about my products. These methods have been effective for me so far, what’s the use of changing?

Setting up your website and promoting your business in the online world doesn’t mean that you will have to stop other marketing methods that you use. Internet marketing is designed to complement, rather than replace other marketing activities. Don’t forget, some people don’t read newspapers (they get all their news online) and throw any advertising fliers that they get in their mailbox straight in the trash can. By having an online presence, you will be able to get in touch with a larger segment of the population.

Services Arbitrage – Another Great Way To Earn

Services Arbitrage – Another Great Way To Earn

Many of you are wondering if there is a quick and easy way to earn some cash online that doesn’t require much technical skills and lets you get paid very rapidly. If this interests you, keep reading. Sure, working with affiliate networks and CPA offers can be very rewarding. Some may even say that this is what internet marketing is “truly about”. But there are some other ways to make some cash online.

You probably know that you can freelance and offer some services to webmasters and fellow marketers. These include things such as logo design, article marketing, web design, etc. Now this is all fine. But there are a few drawbacks. First, these take time to do. Second, you would need to actually have the skills required to complete the client’s project.

But in comes the concept of arbitrage. It is a concept that has existed since antiquity and simply means profiting form price differences between two markets. Basically: buy low, sell high. You get clients to pay you an amount of money for a project. You then outsource it to workers and pay them less than what you get paid. So if your client pays you $100 to create a basic website for their company, you hire a web designer that can do it for say $70 and pocket the difference. Nothing complicated, your job simply consists of finding clients and maintaining a team of freelancers who can do the job at competitive rates.

Now where do you find the workers? There are plenty of places that you can look at. There are several internet marketing forums such as Digital Point where you can get people to do various tasks at inexpensive rates. Microworkers is a freelancing site where you can find the same. And for really small projects, such as article writing, try Fiverr. All workers there can charge only $5 per task.

What about the clients? Now, hey! Wait a minute… Won’t they simply go directly to the source and get workers who can do the project for cheap? The thing is, not all people are involved in the whole internet marketing scene. Many do not know where to find low-cost workers to perform the tasks. Some may prefer to deal only with local businesses. The best channels to advertise your services would be online classifieds sites, such as Craigslist, Kijiji, Backpage and Gumtree. If you are doing web design for businesses, you can also try some offline methods, such as advertising in classified ads or send out fliers.

Remember to tweak and adjust this method to your unique needs and tastes. Start out small, create relationships with your workers, create regular clients and build a reputation for yourself. Some people have built seven figure businesses by doing pretty much what was described in this post. With some dedication and entrepreneurship on your part, you can turn this into a full time business if you wanted to.

Make Money Blogging

Make Money Blogging

If you’re reading this site, you’re probably at least somewhat familiar with blogs. Blogs are online journals used either for personal, professional, or journalistic purposes. Whatever you decide to do with your blog, there are a few tips you should keep in mind if you want it to be profitable.

First thing’s first – pick a topic for you blog. Figure out exactly what sort of content you want to put on your new blog, and think about your audience, and their wants and needs. A blog won’t be profitable if no one reads it, so your content needs to be high quality, and it needs to appeal to a broad audience.

Now that you know what topic you’re going to be blogging about, it’s time to decide where to host your blog. You can use any number of free blogging sites, like WordPress, or Blogger, but it’s usually a better idea to host your blog yourself. Using a blogging service makes things easy – just sign up and start blogging. Unfortunately, it doesn’t allow for a lot of customization. Hosting your own blog leaves room for a great deal of customization, but it’s a little harder to set up. You’ll need to register your domain name, get a hosting package, and then set up some blogging software, like WordPress, on your new site. It’s a little harder, but the customization options make it easy to build an attractive and engaging site.

Now that you have a blog up and running, it’s time to put some ads on it. Google Adsense, Amazon Associates, and Clickbank are easy to deal with for new comers to internet marketing and web design. All you have to do with each of those services is sign up, and paste the ad code into your blog posts. With a little effort, you can get some ads in your posts that are directly relevant to the topic of the post, which makes those ads more likely to get clicked on.

If you’re already familiar with internet marketing, consider looking for some more profitable affiliate programs to put on your site. Look for products and services that would be of interest to your target audience, and be sure to put your ads in noticeable places.

Building a profitable blog isn’t easy, but it is possible. Once you have your ads in place, remember, they won’t do you any good if no one reads your site. Put yourself out there, and do everything you can to drive traffic to your blog. If you can get it some traffic, you’ll have a profitable blog before you know it.

When to Hire a Contractor

When to Hire a Contractor

One of the most overlooked aspects of working online is hiring a contractor.

Let’s face it, not everyone can do everything online, and if they think they can they are joking themselves or they are taking way to much time to get work done because they are having to learn/struggle with every single aspect of web design, article writing, SEO, or some other area that is outside their expertise and they are spending way to much time on tasks that they are having to learn as they go or just take them a long time because of inexperience.

My niche is article writing. I was never found of writing in school, but I learned very quickly online that I was meant for it. I can write decently fast, not 90 words per minute, but I am able to get my ideas down on the “paper” as fast as I can think of them. I learned that when writing about subjects I enjoy I can write almost all day about them, hence why I write only on my niches I like to work on.

It could be different for you, maybe you love SEO, and playing the search engine game. That’s fine, it’s great even. Or maybe you are an awesome designer and just love creating useful art for websites, etc.

Whatever you do almost can be utilized online, however trying to learn everything else can be a mistake.

If you are a great web designer, why not hire a great copywriter to help you sell your services to potential clients instead of struggling to create website content to showcase your work?

If you are an SEO expert throw up a WordPress blog and hire a designer to create you a temple to showcase your SEO skills.

For me, as an article writer I am a bit SEO (but not all the way) with my keyword density, but I could hire both an SEO expert to get my on page SEO down and a designer to create my website for which I write.

Instead of trying to do things halfway, it is a lot easier and will save you a lot of time by simply hiring an outsourcer to do the work for you. Don’t be afraid to spend a little bit of money, because if the contractor is worth their weight, they will provide you with returns long after the work is completed.
