Are MLM Opportunities a Good Way to Earn Money? Part 2

We have previously seen some of the drawbacks of taking part in an MLM program. While there are some ways to make money from such MLM activities, there are a few obstacles that you would need to overcome before you are able to profit from them. Here are some more:

* A lot of competition both online and offline

The thing about any type of MLM system is that you will not be the only one promoting it. This is especially the case if you will be using the internet to get leads in order to recruit participants. Simply search for the name of your program on Google. You will come up with thousands, sometimes even hundreds of thousands of results. You will see reviews, lead capture pages, information about the program, as well as thousands of different websites set up by individuals who are promoting the same offer than you. While many programs will give you access to a pre built website that you can use to get leads, simply using that will not be enough, unless you have gotten in really early and are among the first ones to push that particular program. If your website is very similar to others with the same search terms, you will simply not be able to rank very high in natural search results and will need to resort to other means of marketing your offer online in order to get the results that you wanted.

The “offline” world is not quite different. Almost every person has had a friend, family member or even complete stranger try to solicit them to join an MLM opportunity in the past. There are plenty of “Make Money Working From Home” ads in newspapers as well. Therefore, once again you will need to be quite creative in your marketing approach if you would like to stand out from the crowd and get your ads noticed to get you the leads that you are looking for.

* Being Successful with an MLM Program is Not Easy

Even though the advertising materials for them often tell you a different kind of story, being successful with an MLM program will take countless hours of hard work developing your business. Because after all, this is exactly what you will be doing: building a business. You will need to find people who will buy your products, as well as find ways to market these products successfully. You will also need to get people to join in the offer and become distributors just like you. While it looks like all you need to do is to create a pre-fab website and then let the prospects come to you, this is not how it works in real life. You will need to find ways to advertise, get leads and then spend time communicating with these leads by phone, email and sometimes even give presentations in person if you would like to recruit enough people to make you some good money in the end.

Adsense Alternatives – Chitika

Adsense Alternatives – Chitika

As a website owner you have definitely heard of many different ways to monetize your site and its content. Some ways include running ads for affiliate products, CPA offers, or publishing pay per click ads. The latter is very popular with a lot of webmasters as it doesn’t actually require you to sell or promote anything. You get paid simply for users clicking on the ads and won’t have to worry about whether the click will convert on the advertisers side.

Any webmaster has probably already heard of using Google Adsense to monetize their site. Sure, they are the most commonly heard of name in the pay per click publishing industry, but this doesn’t mean that they don’t have any competition. Many other advertising networks are in operation right now and other competitors are sprouting up on a regular basis.

One advertising network that has proven to be reliable and innovative is Chitika. Generally speaking, they operate in a way that is similar to Adwords and the majority of advertising networks out there: you publish ads on your site and get paid every time a visitor clicks on them. But they also have a unique delivery option called Chitika Premium. It uses a concept called “behavioral targeting”, which means showing ads to visitors based on things that they are interesting in. This is accomplished by their service seeing which search terms visitors have used in order to locate your website or blog. Then, this keyword is displayed to the user, in addition to relevant ads specially targeted to that keyword. So if the user typed in the keyword “hotels”, they would see “Are you looking for hotels?” in the ad box, together with ads that would best fit this keyword. One small drawback of the premium service is that it only works for traffic that comes from search engines and is coming from the United States or Canada. If you have other types of traffic to your site, or international traffic, don’t worry though. Chitika will still display “regular” ads to these users, so you won’t lose out.

Payments are made on a NET 30 basis, which means that, for example, earnings that you have accumulated for the month of March will be paid at the end of the month of April. This is pretty much standard procedure among pay per click advertising networks and most CPA networks. One advantage of dealing with Chitika is that they support payment by PayPal. You just need to have earned over $10 for the month in question. You can also opt to receive payment by check, however in that case you would need to have earned a minimum amount of $50 in your Chitika account.

If you have a lot of search traffic that is coming from the US or Canada, then Chitika offers you a good way to get better CTR on your ads and it is definitely something worth trying.

Tips For Lowering Your Bounce Rate

Tips For Lowering Your Bounce Rate

Your bounce rate is the peercentage of your visitors that arrive either through search, or from another incoming link, view the page they landed on, and leave without looking at anything else. Depending on the type of site you run, a high bounce rate can be a sign that your visitors just aren’t finding what they’re looking for when they come to your site. If your bounce rate seems high, or if it’s on the rise, there are a few things you can do to bring it back down.

Keywords

If your visitors are coming in from search engines, and then leaving immediately, you might have some faulty keywords on your site. Take a look at the search terms that are bringing the visitors to your site, and make sure those terms are directly related to the content on the page that search engines are taking people to. Also, do a little research, and make sure that your keywords don’t have a dual meaning. For example, it’s possible for a band, and a movie to share a name. If your site is about the movie, it’s possible that people searching for the band are arriving at your site by accident. If that’s the case, try to refocus your content to talk more specifically about the meaning of the search term that applies to your site.

Load Times

If your bounce rate is going up, take a look at your website, and make sure that all the pages are loading quickly, and properly in all the major web browsers. If your visitors find a broken page, or a page that’s loading slowly, they’ll be more likely to leave your site before exploring it.

Content

Your visitors might also be leaving quickly because your content isn’t what they were looking for. Your content might not answer their question, or provide them with the information they were looking for in the first place. If your visitors find your content lacking in some way, they’ll eave your site without looking at any other pages.

Make sure your site has high quality content, appropriate keywords, and make sure it works properly, and your bounce rate will stay low. If those things don’t help, it’s possible that the type of site you’re running just has a high average bounce rate. Otherwise, you should be looking at a low bounce rate if you keep these tips in mind.

Set Up An Effective PPC Campaign

Set Up An Effective PPC Campaign

Setting up a PPC program through a service like Google Adwords is a little tricky. In order to effectively run your ad campaign, you have to do a little keyword research first in order to ensure that you’re spending your money to advertise on the right search terms. Fortunately, there are a number of great tools available that can provide you with all the information you need to make sure you’re spending your advertising money wisely.

The Google Keyword Tool is the first tool you should spend some time with. Start by entering a word or phrase relevant to your website, and your advertising campaign. The keyword tool will show you a list of keywords related to your search, as well as how many searches each term gets in a month. Generally speaking, you want to try and advertise on search terms that get a good amount of attention in a month. If you’re having trouble picking keywords, you can also enter a website into the keyword tool, and it will show you a list of search terms relevant to that website. Try entering one of your competitors into the keyword tool, and see what terms they’re taking advantage of. Make a list of the ten or twenty keywords you feel best represent your site. That may sound like a lot, but don’t worry, you’re going to narrow it down a good bit before you’re done with your research.

Next, pop open Google Trends. If you don’t know where to find it, just search Google for Google Trends, and you’ll find it easily. This tool will show you whether or not a keyword is getting a consistent amount of searches. Some search terms only do well during certain times of year, and as such, those are terms you probably want to avoid. For example, the word “costume”  gets searched heavily around Halloween, but not during the rest of the year. Advertising under costume related keywords at any other point in the year may not be a good idea.  Cross any keywords off your list that don’t get consistent traffic all year long.

Now it’s time to see how much competition you have. Use a tool called Keyword Spy to see how many other people are bidding on the keywords you’re thinking about bidding on. If a keyword is already heavily saturated, you can cross it off of your list.

You should now be left with a handful of keywords that fit your needs. Pick the ones that you feel best represent your site, and set up your ad campaign accordingly. By doing a little research before diving into PPC advertising, you can spend your advertising budget effectively, and boost your traffic greatly.
