Why Many Internet Marketers Give Up

If you look at information on internet marketing, you will find plenty of success stories coming from people who have “made it” in this industry and who have made very good amount of money in online business. But what about those who haven’t? Let’s take a closer look at what causes many online marketers to simply give up rather than want to do everything they can to make their business succeed.

  • They Set Their Income Expectations To An Unrealistic Amount

Advertisements for IM products are partly to blame for this one. They show money falling out of the sky, flashy cars, big houses, etc. All of that, with promises that you can make thousands of dollars every single day. While these amounts are achievable, after all, some people have made millions on the internet, they are not what you will be earning when you start. Every business starts out small and brings in a modest amount of profit at the beginning and the online business world is no different.

  • They Thought Everything Was So Easy

Again, ads for products that teach IM methods are partly to blame for this. They use language like “all you have to do is put up a few ads on Google each day and you might make thousands!!” Well, this is technically true. You CAN make thousands by putting up a few ads on Google. But then again, you need to know which products to promote, what to write in the ads, what keywords to select, etc. And this requires work and dedication. When some people realize that actual work will be required, they seem to back out of the deal rather quickly, instead of actually giving it a shot to see what works and what doesn’t.

  • They Thought That You Would Never Have To Invest Any Money In Their Business

Some people come to internet marketing thinking that since this is the “virtual world” starting a business that will bring them hundreds of thousands a year in “real” money will not require them to spend anything. When they realize that they will need to spend a few dollars on domains, hosting, advertising, tools, etc. they once again run away thinking that this must be some kind of scam or conspiracy to get them to lose money. The funny thing is when you consider that those people are not unable to get the cash necessary to start their business. They are rather unwilling to invest in it. And if you look even closer, very often you will find that the people who complain about having to pay $10 for a domain would not think twice about spending $2000 on a vacation trip, or would run to the mall to buy a $300 pair of shoes that they would wear a few times only. While there are ways to cut down on your initial expenses, if you want your business to grow then you MUST invest some money in it at some point.

Finding Legitimate Online Business Opportunities – Part 1

There are various business opportunities that you can take advantage of in the online world and make money from them. Many have allowed people to build successful online businesses and achieve whatever goals they had, whether it was to create a part-time side income or to replace their full time job entirely. Unfortunately, the internet is full of “business opportunity” offers that either don’t deliver on their promises or worse, are run by outright scammers who disappear soon after collecting enough money from unsuspecting people. There are some things that you can do if you want to find some legitimate earning opportunities and being taken for a ride. Keep them in mind before you join any program or online business opportunity.

Research what the opportunity is truly about

What will you be doing to earn money? What products will you be selling, what kinds of offers will you be promoting? Is it physical goods? Is it digital products? These are all questions that you need to ask when checking out a business opportunity. A flashy page with pictures of luxury villas, stacks of money and sports cars can definitely look attractive. In fact, it is a very common marketing tactic in the business opportunity world. Beware of any site that asks you to pay money in order to join “the business of a lifetime” without giving you any clue as to what you will be doing to actually earn money. If you blindly join an opportunity by simply looking at the dollar signs, then you may very well end up with a box full of products that are nearly impossible to re-sell at a profit, or otherwise realize that this is not something that you would have been interested in had you known what their business was actually about.

Check out the company’s reputation

This should really be a given before starting out, but many people are so impressed by the flashy sales page and claims of “this opportunity may not be here tomorrow so join today!!” that they forget to do their due diligence before jumping in. A quick way to start would be to simply Google the name of the company or their website and scan through a few pages of search results. Do you see any complaints being made about them? Do you see any negative reviews? While EVERY company, even giant corporations such as American Express and Microsoft have their detractors and people who weren’t happy with their services, seeing a large number of complaints and warnings about a company is a bad sign.

Also, do not base your decision on a few glowing testimonials or reviews that you found on the first page of Google. These could, and frequently are, fabricated either by the company itself or by affiliates who are promoting them for a quick buck without actually caring about what they are promoting.

Affiliates Make Money

Affiliates Make Money

One of the easiest ways to make money online is to join an affiliate marketing program. Affiliates are able to generate revenue through advertising and promoting other businesses, products, and services online. You yourself do not have to worry about taking customer orders, packaging and sending orders, or even collecting payment for services rendered. Every time a consumer purchases a product through your advertising and promoting efforts you receive a predetermined commission from that sale or service provided. A check typically arrives at your door within a few weeks, money making couldn’t be easier!

If you search online for an affiliate program you will no doubt be inundated with scams and phony programs that make promises they will not keep. This means before signing up with any affiliate program you should do your homework and find a site that will work best for you and the time you have to dedicate to advertising. Read testimonials of other affiliates and about the products or services that business has to offer. Additionally you should choose a program that focuses on a niche that you have an interest in. It is much easier to sell and speak of products that you like and are passionate about then products you don’t.

To keep afloat in affiliate marketing you will need to focus your energy on website creation and banner and advertising implementation. This means that you will have to do some work before you see any money come in, however the more you promote the more money you will gain in your pocket.

Build Trust With Your Subscribers

If you work with email marketing at all, you know the hardest part is getting your subscribers to trust you. Everyone gets a lot of spam, and as such, most people are predisposed to deleting a newsletter rather than reading it. If you keep a few simple things in mind, you can ensure that they’ll read your emails rather than deleting them.

Be Consistent

If you want your subscribers to trust you you’re going to have to give them a reason to do so. In other words, you’re going to have to keep the promises you make, and you’re going to have to be clear about what those promises are. If you promise your subscribers a coupon for 25% off of all of a certain type of item, make sure that all the items that are supposed to be included in the sale are going for the sale price. If that same sale excludes certain items, be sure to state that clearly in your email. You want the customer to get the exact same message from the email and your site.

Style Counts

If your emails look nice, and are easy to read and understand, your subscribers will be more inclined to read them on a regular basis. Make sure all of the important information is presented near the top of the email. Also, make sure the title of the email is attractive to the reader. Remember, presentation and style matter. If your subscribers

Personality

Make your emails fun, and interesting for the reader. Don’t just send the same boring advertisements and discounts that everyone else is sending, instead, come up with an entertaining way to deliver your message. If your customers are entertained by your newsletter, they will find it easier to trust you. Additionally, they’ll be more likely to open and read each email you send out. If they expect to find something enjoyable in the email, they’ll be far more likely to open it and read it thoroughly.

Email marketing can be hard. Most newsletters get lost in the sea of spam that floods into everyone’s inbox. If you keep the tips above in mind, you’ll be able to get your subscribers to trust your emails. As their trust grows, so to will the rate at which they open your emails,a nd click your links.

The Biggest Lies Free Traffic Providers Tell

The Biggest Lies Free Traffic Providers Tell

We’ve all gotten the e-mails, and seen the ads for services that claim to boost your traffic in some significant way. Usually they offer a free boost in traffic just for signing up with them, and giving them some information about yourself, which will likely then be sold to other companies for marketing purposes. Most of the claims these traffic providers make are completely false. Let’s take a look at a few of the common claims they make and the truth about them.

“We’ll submit your site to 5 thousand search engines, you’ll get so much search traffic, it will blow your mind!”

Claims like this are rarely a direct lie, but they are misleading. Sure, they will submit your site to all of the search engines they promise to submit it to, but the actual impact on your traffic won’t be anywhere near as amazing as they claim. Most of your search traffic is going to come from Yahoo, Google, and Microsoft’s Bing. The thousands of other search engines might collectively generate 100 hits per month… if you’re lucky.

“We’ll get you to the top of Google”

Again, not a direct and total lie, but extremely misleading. Services making this promise will get you to the top of Google, but it won’t be for keywords that anyone is actually searching. If you have a site about cars, and you choose to use a service like this, chances are you’ll wind up being the first search result for “how to properly eat cheese while driving your car”. Sure, you’re the first result, but who is actually searching for that? No one, that’s who.

“100% Guaranteed”

If a service is offering to boost your traffic, and they try to make lofty promises and guarantees, you should just walk away. SEO and internet marketing are extremely complicated. No one can make a blanket guarantee that your traffic will be effected in a fixed way without looking at your site, and what’s going on in your niche.

The best way to get more traffic to your site is to take the time, and effort to optimize your site for search, and post relevant and interesting content to it. If you absolutely can’t resist using a traffic boosting service, be sure to do some research before picking a service. Avoid free services that make promises like the ones above, and if you’re going to use a paid service, look up some reviews before sinking any money into it.
