Tips for Promoting Your Blog: Part 2

Now that you know about the importance of good SEO, as well as inclusion in your email marketing, plus linking from your main site is important, you may be wondering if there are any other tips that you can apply to promote the blog you’ve just build and get a steady stream of interested visitors. There are a few final tips that I’m going to share with you regarding how to accomplish this easily. The key here would be integration with other marketing efforts, which will result in plenty of good traffic if you’re diligent and patient in your traffic building efforts.

Be Social

Social media is a topic that comes numerous times when discussing traffic generation techniques as well as internet marketing in general. This is not without good reason: the majority of people visit social networking sites, so the traffic on these sites is already there. You just need to direct it to your blog. The two best examples in this case would be using Facebook. When you post a new article in your blog, share it on Facebook. Readers will see the title of the post and a summary, where they can click through to your blog to read more if interested. For Twitter, just send out a Tweet about the update and include a link.

Also, don’t forget to include buttons so that users can like and share your posts on their social networking profiles, thus giving you exposure to their friends and followers, generating a potential for more traffic in the process.

Use RSS

RSS feeds are a good way to get people to follow your blog in a way similar to following someone on Twitter or Facebook. When they subscribe to your RSS feeds, people will be able to see in their browser if you’ve made a new blog post. If it’s something that interests them, they will then click through to your blog and read the article you just posted.

Be Patient

Building a steady amount of traffic to a blog is something that takes time and patience. It’s quite unlikely that you will receive thousands of daily visitors after just taking one of the actions presented here. But keep posting good content and keep using the techniques shown here and you will soon start seeing a few visitors on your blog. This can grow in time, you will just need to be patient and continue blogging and actively taking efforts to generate more interest and thus more traffic on the blog you’ve built.

Be Creative

You’re not limited to what was presented here when it comes to getting traffic. Think up of your own strategies to bring in high quality visitors and read up more about things such as social media, SEO and traffic generation to blogs. You may discover some new methods and techniques that you will want to try, which may very well be the solution that you were looking for to finally get the amount of visitors you wanted.

Are MLM Opportunities a Good Way to Earn Money? Part 3

Are MLM Opportunities a Good Way to Earn Money? Part 3

Previously, we’ve seen some of the issues regarding making money online with MLM offers. But what if you’ve decided that you would like to make some money with them? Here are a few tips that will help you profit from this kind of business opportunity.

  • Don’t stay stuck on only one opportunity

If you take a look at some of the leaders in the MLM business opportunity world, you will see that they participate in various different money making opportunities. The reasons are simple: if one opportunity dries up, there are others that can be scaled up to make more money. Therefore, don’t get attached to only one program and treat MLM opportunities for what they really are: a vehicle for you to make some money.

  • Choose business opportunities with good products

The product is an important part of any business opportunity. There are certain things that you need to ask yourself about it: is it something that is really useful? Is it priced in a way that will enable you to make a decent profit from selling the product instead of constantly hounding others to become distributors? It is something that will last for at least a few years, or just a fad that will be over in a couple of months?

  • Go with MLM opportunities that do not focus exclusively on promoting to friends and family

While some people may be able to pull this off with success, promoting to friends and family is not the best way to go. Sure, a few may sign up, but if you limit yourself to just people you know, then you have a limited pool of prospects, who are actually low quality prospects to begin with (they probably aren’t interested in a business). A good business opportunity to take part in is one that will provide you with some tools and training on generating leads and prospects by advertising online.

  • Join an opportunity early

This gives you a good advantage over those who come later on. There will be less marketing material online about the business that you are in, meaning that you will be dealing with a lot less competition when you start out. Essentially, this will make acquiring leads and prospects, as well as clients who are interested in the products, much easier than an opportunity where there are already hundreds of thousands of distributors competing for the same resources.

  • Learn independently

While many MLM businesses give you some training materials on how to make your business grow, there is plenty of third part material available online for free that will teach you how to do that as well. You may even discover some things that you didn’t know and that wasn’t covered in the training materials of your business opportunity. Therefore, if you want to succeed, you need to be able to find information independently and use that information to build and grow your business as needed. Spending a few hours a week on research and learning can definitely go a long way.

Improving Conversion Rates on Your Website: Some Tips – Part 1

To get people to buy your products and services in the online world, we all know that you need quality traffic. This is basically visitors who are interested in buying what you are selling and that have visited your site for that reason. However once they are on your site, there are certain things that you need to do in order to increase the number of visitors who will actually convert into a sale.

Of course, it is not possible to convert every visitor on your website into a customer. There are various types of visitors on your website and there are many reasons as to why somebody may not want to buy something from you, at least not at the very moment. Now why would visitors leave without buying? Here are some reasons:

  • The visitor was simply doing research. This happens quite often. The visitor may have been just curious about what your products are and how they function, but was not really ready to buy any of them. He may have been comparing prices between various different sellers online. Or maybe it was a student who was writing a report on your industry, etc.
  • Your prices were not satisfactory to the visitor. Basically, the visitor had an interest in what you had to offer, it is just that he found the prices too high and thinks that it is possible to get a better deal somewhere else.
  • You don’t have the product that they want. Your visitor was looking for something specific and you either didn’t have it, or it was listed as out of stock.
  • The terms of the purchase were not suitable for your visitor. This could mean various things. The visitor may have wanted to pay with PayPal but you only take credit cards. If you offer a service, such as a voicemail service or webhosting, you might have required that the visitor take a contract and pay you for several months in advance, which they weren’t willing to do. If you are shipping merchandise, maybe you weren’t shipping to his country, or the delivery methods weren’t suitable for him.
  • Your site was not functioning properly. There is something that you need to face: people have short attention spans. Also, there is competition out there. Unless you are offering something that is very unique and impossible to find anywhere else online, you will have competitors who are selling the same thing than you. Now the issue here is that if a visitor finds that your site is difficult to navigate, slow, or has error messages cropping up all the time, they are most likely to simply leave and look at another site. Very few people are going to keep hitting F5 because they got a “500 Internal Server Error” when they were checking out for an e-commerce purchase.

These are all things that you need to think about if you want to be a successful online merchant. Tomorrow you will see more tips on improving conversions.

Using Fiverr to Make Money: Part 1

Using Fiverr to Make Money: Part 1

A lot of people have heard about Fiverr.com, which is a type of freelancing website that allows you to do two things: both hiring people to do certain tasks and doing the tasks yourself. You can actually profit from the site both as a buyer and as a seller. But first, let’s take a look at what the site is and how it actually works:

All the tasks, called “gigs” cost $5 and you cannot change that amount. So this makes it suitable for relatively short tasks that do not take much time to complete. Now some people wonder how Fiverr makes money from people who use the site. In reality, their business model is very similar to how other freelancing sites function. They take a small commission from the amount that someone gets paid when they do a gig. At Fiverr, that amount is $1. So the buyer pays $5 to have a gig done. The person who provides the service gets $4.

Fiverr uses PayPal as their (only) payment system as of right now. The buyer deposits funds and then can buy some gigs. As a seller, you can withdraw funds to your PayPal account when you have earned some money doing gigs. However there is something very important that you need to consider: as a security measure, the amount can only be withdrawn 14 days after the gig has been completed. So you don’t really get paid “instantly” as you need to wait 2 weeks before you can transfer the funds over to your PayPal account.

Now, as a seller, what kind of gigs can you provide that will allow you to earn some money?

The most popular ones are:

  • Article Writing

Usually involves writing articles or blog posts that will be used as web content. Very easy to do, all that you have to do is to write an article based on the requirements of the buyer.

  • Website Creation

You can create a small website that has a few pages for the buyer. Also, there are many buyers that need a landing or squeeze page done in order to market affiliate offers online.

  • Social Media Marketing

Do you have a Facebook fan page or a Twitter account with thousands of followers? In that case, you can offer to put up a promotional message on your social media page to advertise the website of the buyer.

  • Video Creation

This usually involves you talking about a product or service that somebody else is promoting online. However there are also plenty of other topics that buyers request videos to be made for. If you like making videos, this could be an interesting gig for you.

  • Offline Marketing

This simple involves you printing out fliers and then distributing them in a high traffic location. This gig works really well if you live in or near a big city and doesn’t really require a lot of work, it’s just that you need to get out there and distribute those fliers.

Promoting Your Membership Site: Using Forums

Promoting Your Membership Site: Using Forums

Now that you have learned about what is necessary to run a membership site that you created, you now need to figure out how you will get members to join. Obviously, this means putting the message out there. People will not just magically type in the URL of your site in the address bar and join. There are a couple of methods that you can employ in order to gain members to your site. Each have their unique advantages, so it is a good thing for you to review all of them before you make your decision as to how you will promote it.

Here are some promotional methods:

  • IM Forums

This is perhaps the best way to promote a membership site, as you will be showing your message to people who are already interested in learning about internet marketing and online money making techniques. The traffic is already there, all you would need to do is to get their attention and to convince them that your membership site is worth joining.

This can be done through various means. When a member of an internet marketing forum sees that a new membership site is being created, the first thing they will want to know if WHO created it. People who frequent IM forums have generally seen plenty of “make money online” products and are more likely to be skeptical than someone who is completely new to the industry and does not frequent any IM related communities online. In order to get better results, it would be good that you would be a reputed member of the forum where you are promoting your new site. This means having been on the forum for at least a few months and have made a decent number of contributions that are both useful as well as informative. Also, it helps if you get along well with other members and do not constantly get into flame wars with others. When a reputed member of an IM forum advertises their site, he is more likely to be taken seriously and listened to than a newbie with 4 posts that just joined yesterday.

It also helps to make some friends in the internet marketing community. This way, you will have some people who would be willing to review your site and vouch for its credibility in front of other members. If several well respected members of the forum say that a site is useful, then people are once again more likely to believe them.

Promoting via forums is simple and the exact steps to take depend on which forum you are in. All the big IM forums have a “Products for Sale” section. Some allow you to put a link to your site in your forum signature, while others will even let you purchase banner ad space on the forum that can be used for the purposes of promoting your website. This may cost a bit of money, but will attract much more attention to your offer.

Getting the Most Out of YouTube

Getting the Most Out of YouTube

It is no secret that video marketing is an excellent way to bring in visitors to your website, and simply to promote your business on the internet. However, just like any other kinds of marketing activities, video marketing needs to be done well in order to bring you good results. While many online “gurus” claim that YouTube can bring you instant success, the reality of things is a bit more subdued. Yes, video sites such as YouTube are an excellent marketing platform, but they are not magical solutions where you can expect to get thousands of visitors to your website just because you have uploaded one video. Here are some quick tips that will help you get the most out of the time, money and effort that you spend on creating videos. You will see that by applying them, the returns that you get from your YouTube videos will probably increase.

And remember one thing, while many experts mention “YouTube” all the time because it is the most popular video sharing site, these tips will work on any other video sharing site that you can use as well.

  • Keep current about recent news developments related to your industry

When something new comes out, or people hear about something that they are interested in happening, they increasingly turn to YouTube to watch some information about the issue. It is thus important that you upload a video as soon as something interesting happens in your niche. For example, if you sell mobile phones, this could be the release of a new model of the iPhone or BlackBerry.

  • Give practical information (how to videos)

In addition to finding out about recent happenings, people use YouTube for video guides on how to accomplish something. If possible, provide some interesting content which tells the viewer how to do something that is related to your niche and don’t forget to include a link to your site for them to find more information and related products and services.

  • Integrate your social media efforts

This simply means that you can include a link to your Twitter or Facebook profiles in your videos or in the video description. The more people you have that follow you on social networks, the more effective your efforts will be and using video sharing sites to gain more followers is definitely a great idea.

  • Give something for free or another type of special offer

People always like to feel special and to have something given to them for free. The possibilities are endless with video marketing. For example, if you promote IM related products on your site, you could offer a free report on how to make money online and include a link to it in the video description.

If you don’t have anything to give away, why not instead give a special discount for viewers of your video who click on your link and proceed to your website? It is much more effective than simply linking to your site with no special offer for your viewers.

Is Internet Marketing a Good Career Choice?

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Is Internet Marketing a Good Career Choice?

Some people may be asking themselves if internet marketing is a good choice of career. Sure, the money that can be made online may seem attractive to many, but earning cash on the internet by promoting affiliate products or having your own products is not for everyone. Here are some thing to consider if you want to go into online marketing as a full time activity:

Being an internet marketer is not a job. You will actually be working for yourself and thus have all the responsibilities that come with that. So you need to be a person that will always be motivated to do work without having someone giving them orders and telling them what to do or what not to do. The success of your business will depend on your ability to make the right decisions and you cannot blame someone else if things go wrong.

  • You will need to learn things by yourself

When you decide to build an online business, there is a lot of information that you would need to look up, read and understand. There are very few actual college courses that deal with online business, and those that do typically just explain you what internet marketing is, but do not go into any real amount of detail on how you can build a successful business on the internet. So, if your idea of learning is sitting in a classroom and hearing some guy in a suit rephrase what is already in a textbook, then the online world is not for you. You must have the ability to learn everything you need by yourself, either by looking up information, or through experience.

  • There is no fixed salary

Remember again, you are working for yourself and not for someone else. Therefore, you are the one that will determine how much or who little you get paid. In certain jobs, you might be able to get paid just for showing up and loafing around for a few hours. This is not the case here. How hard you work and how creative you are will have a definite impact on how much you get paid.

  • You need to be able to embrace change

The online world is constantly changing, with new earning opportunities always emerging. In order to maximize your profits, you will need to take advantage of these opportunities as soon as they appear. Just remember, about 6 years ago, social media marketing was a relatively new concept that barely anyone took seriously. Now, many businesses use social media sites like Twitter and Facebook to stay in touch with clients and to acquire new ones.

What will be the next wave of change in online marketing? Some say it could be sites geared towards mobile devices, others think that the integration of various devices, such as internet enabled televisions could change the landscape significantly. No matter what happens, you need to be on top of your game and be among the first to spot golden opportunities.

Why Many Internet Marketers Give Up – Part 2

Why Many Internet Marketers Give Up – Part 2

We all know that there are plenty of success stories to be found when it comes to the online marketing industry. Some people have built million dollar businesses right from their homes. But what about those who simply gave up. Let’s keep looking at some of the common reasons. But, maybe you are asking yourself: why does this guy want me to see what people who failed did? I want success!! Well the answer is simple: because you sometimes need to see where people messed up so that you don’t repeat their errors. There is a quote that I often like to use: “The wise man learns from his mistakes, but the genius learns from the mistakes of others.” Now let’s get back to seeing some of what causes people to give up:

  • They Let Others Talk Them Out Of It

This happens, and it does quite often actually. Somebody could have a million dollar business plan, but then their friend/wife/mother/uncle/dog tells them that “that’s stupid, it will never work” or that “you can’t make money on the internet, it is all a big scam” and then they simply put their plans behind. To have success in any business, whether its online or not, you have to believe in yourself. Do you really think that nobody was laughing at Bill Gates when he quit college to start Microsoft? Well, considering the fact that he’s now the richest man in the world, I somehow have a feeling that these people are saying: “Damn! If only I was more friendly with that geeky guy in glasses!!”.

  • They Wanted Someone To Hold Their Hand Every Step of the Way

Part of running any business is that you need to be able to make the right decisions by yourself. There will be nobody explaining to you what you have to do, how to do it and when to do it. YOU will need to look up the information necessary to build, operate and expand your business. While you may partner up with others who can give you advice, remember that these people also have their own businesses to run and therefore won’t want to constantly be looking out for you.

  • They Had a Problem or Setback and Quickly Got Discouraged

Again, this is a common occurrence. If I said to you that everything will always be A-OK in the online business industry, I would be lying to you. Things can go wrong. Sometimes, your ads and sales pages will not convert as well as you want them to. A “super money maker method” could turn out to be completely worthless. An affiliate network could go bankrupt, leaving hundreds of affiliates high and dry. This happens. Deal with it. When a problem occurs, the best thing to do is to start thinking of logical solutions: what could I have done differently so that this doesn’t happen to me again in the future? That is the question that you need to be always asking yourself in case of an issue with your business.

Work At Home Offers – Know Which Ones ARE NOT Legit – Part 1

Even though the effects of the recession are slowly starting to taper off and employment is picking up again, a great deal of people are still interested in being their own boss and making money for themselves. This is a great thing and comes with a lot of advantages for those who take advantage of this opportunity. There are also a great many opportunities to take advantage of online when it comes to making money for yourself. However, not all of these can be profitable for you. In fact, some of them are outright scams that are designed to make money only for those who promote these “opportunities”. Here are some of them:

Envelope stuffing.

This is quite an old scam and has been around even during the years before the internet even came into existence. The company claims that you can make money by stuffing envelopes and mailing them. They say that you can make $10 to $30 per envelope that you stuff and mail. Now let’s stop and think logically here: a machine can do the same thing for mere pennies. Even if they can’t afford one, they can hire a worker for minimum wage who can stuff hundreds of envelopes each day. WHY would they pay YOU such a high amount just for folding a piece of paper? Well… you’ve guessed it: they won’t. They make money by having you pay for a “starter kit”. You will soon notice that they want you to promote the same “make money stuffing envelopes” spiel by sending envelopes with information about the “opportunity” to other victims. If someone signs up, you then get paid. This is actually quite close to a pyramid scheme and is illegal in many jurisdictions.

Product assembly.

Another one that has been around since before the internet. Often promoted by the same people who run the envelope stuffing scam. You are told that you will be paid to assemble items, such as toys and other trinkets at home. They offer you what looks like a really good payment for every item that you assemble. Now the problems start when you sign up. You are told that you must first order a “start up kit” which contains the materials to be assembled. This kit can cost well over a hundred dollars, but the materials that it contains are probably worth a few dollars at most. You can assemble and send back as many products as you want, but they will always tell you that they weren’t done correctly and thus they can’t pay you.

Data entry / “online typist” jobs.

Here, you will be told that you can make from $10 to $50 to type in a short 3 line ad on a website. Alarm bells should be going off in your head now. Why would someone pay you that much for what is basically 2 minutes of work? After signing up and paying a fee (of course), you will soon realize that what you will need to do is to enter ads on online pay per click advertising services such as Google Adwords which promote the same website that you just signed up for. You get paid only when someone clicks on the ads you typed and signs up for their site. The issue is, YOU will have to pay for each click that you receive. And not everyone who clicks on your ads will sign up. If you have no experience in pay per click marketing, you will probably end up just losing your money.

Start Your Own Web Marketing Agency – Getting Clients

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Start Your Own Web Marketing Agency – Getting Clients

When you start your own web marketing agency, one of the most important questions that you will ask yourself is: how do I get clients? After all, without any clients for you to do work for, you won’t be making any money. There is also another thing that you need to take into consideration: how much will you charge for your services.

Getting clients is not as difficult as it may seem at first. You basically have two options: either you can have people come to you or you come to them first and offer your services. In order to maximize your chances of success, it is recommended that you adopt an approach that would combine both concepts.

Having people inquire about your services means that you need to advertise in order to let others know about your business. You can use a variety of methods to do so. For example, you can optimize your website for certain keywords such as “internet marketing (your city)” or “web site creation (your city)”. This will allow it to be found more easily on search engines. Targeting “local” keywords means that you will be facing less competition as you will only be competing against web marketers that are located in your area and not around the world.

You could also combine your SEO efforts with PPC campaigns on both the search and content networks to see if this gets you results. Of course, you should also use free or low cost advertising methods that are highly effective. Posting on classified ads sites under the “business services” section and including your agency in online business directories is highly recommended, as many of your clients might be looking at those places if they are in search for someone who could start or improve their web presence for them.

Another thing that you can do is actually contact business owners to see if they are interested in your services. Of course, this requires a bit more effort than simply putting up a web page and some ads. You will also need to deal with rejection quite often. However, when you do direct marketing, this is all part of the game and simply something that you have to live with.

To accomplish that, you first need to make up a list of potential clients who look like they could use your services. Here again, there are numerous ways to make that happen. Check out online classified ads sites for local small businesses, such as hair salons, car dealers, plumbers, cleaning companies, etc. Do they have a website? If so, does it look like it was made by an elementary school kid for his computer class? Then you can offer them to redesign the site and make it look more professional and attractive. Even if they do have a site, you can still contact them and offer to promote it for them so they get more traffic and thus more customers. Another possibility is to print out a nice pamphlet with details about your offerings and send them to local businesses in your area.

Article Marketing – How To Be More Efficient – Part 2

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Article Marketing – How To Be More Efficient – Part 2

While article marketing is an effective way to promote various offers or products online, some people seem to have a bit of trouble cranking out enough articles for their efforts to be effective. Here are some more tips to make the whole thing go easier for you and which just may increase your revenue.

Do your research quickly.

Some articles will require that you do a fair amount of research before you are able to create some usable content. That’s a known fact. However, you must be able to complete that research rather quickly. After all, you are not writing a high school essay here where you have 2 weeks to write 1000 words.

When you do your research, open up multiple tabs in your browser that contain information that is related to your niche. See if they contain useful things that you can use in your article. Close those that don’t. Then, start writing right away. A lot of marketers spend too much time simply reading the information and thinking about whether they should include that in their articles.

Improve your typing speed.

Some of us can easily crank out 60 words per minute. Others type with one finger and it takes them an hour just to write one paragraph. Not much to say here except that you will need to practice your typing in order to be able to type faster. The more you practice, the better you will get at it, that’s pretty much guaranteed.

You can also consider using voice recognition software, like Dragon Naturally Speaking. This software will basically write everything that you are saying for you. If you aren’t too fast of a typist, this could be a viable solution for you.

Consider outsourcing part of your work.

If you simply have too many articles that you need to write, why not outsource some of your writing to a third party? There are many places where you can find a freelancer willing to do some of the work for you, such as internet marketing forums and freelancing sites. Getting quality articles done is not that expensive. In fact, you can easily find people who would be willing to create a 500 word article for around $5. Remember that you get what you pay for, however. So don’t necessarily go with whoever is offering the cheapest writing service, but rather with a writer that is capable of following your instructions and writing in proper English.

Practice makes perfect.

This applies in many areas of life, not just article writing. So remember, the more articles you write on any given niche, the more proficient you will get in it and the faster you will be able to crank out that content. Writing your articles faster means more money in your pocket, as you will have more opportunities to get traffic due to the fact that you have posted more articles, plus you can also focus on growing and improving your business more rather than be always busy writing marketing materials.

Want To Become An Internet Marketer? Do You Have What It Takes?

Want To Become An Internet Marketer? Do You Have What It Takes?

A great number of people are seeking to become internet marketers these days. This is no surprise in itself, given that the internet offers a lot of opportunities for anyone wishing to make money. Furthermore, many are attracted to the world of online business due to the income opportunities that it presents as well as the potential of being your own boss. But do YOU have what it takes to be an internet marketer? There are some qualities and skills that an internet marketer needs to possess in order to succeed. Here are a few of them:

The ability to work independently.

When you run an online business, no one is constantly breathing down your neck to make sure that you are actually working instead of just goofing off and wasting time. For many, this is a good thing. But for some, it can present a challenge in itself. You will need to be motivated to do the work that needs to get done in order to get your business operating even if no one is “forcing” you to do anything.

The willingness to learn… on your own.

To my knowledge, there are only a few internet marketing courses taught in universities. And based on what I have seen, they are usually not worth the money, as all the information given in them can be found online either for free or for far less money.

It comes down to the fact that you need to be able to not only work, but also learn independently. You will have to locate the information you want online, analyze it and take action on it. As the world of internet marketing is constantly evolving, you will always need to be ahead on new developments and do research on new ways to make money. This means devoting some time to continued learning.

The ability to plan and organize things efficiently.

Any successful internet marketer will tell you that the key to earning a lot of money online is having multiple sources of income. The advantages of this are quite obvious, even to someone with no experience in online business: if one of your sources of income dries up for whatever reason, you always have other ones that you can fall back on and scale up. This means that you would probably be operating several websites, dealing with various vendors and service providers, have accounts at multiple affiliate networks, etc.

If you want your business to work well, all of this will have to be neatly organized. You will have to make decisions as to which projects you want to work on, which affiliate offers you will promote this week, which tools and services you will need to accomplish your goals, etc. Needless to say, if you don’t even remember which sites you own or where you are running your ad campaigns, things won’t work out too well for you.

Becoming An Online Freelance Writer: What Does It Take

For those of you who have thought about being an online freelance writer, here is some information that will help you out on your new journey to making money by writing content on the internet. Being a freelance writer in the online world is not as difficult as it may seem in the first place. In most cases, you won’t need to have much literary talent. After all, most online writing jobs involve writing information and advertising, rather than works of fiction. Therefore, you won’t need experience in writing epic novels that have won awards for best literary work of the century.

But there are a few things that you will need. One of them is a capacity to learn quickly. When you freelance online, you will be writing about various different topics. Sure, you could be an expert in one or two of them, but it’s going to be quite hard to only get work related to things that you are knowledgeable about. When you write about things that you’re not very familiar with, you are going to need to do some research on the topic quickly. This isn’t like in high school where you get two weeks to turn in your research paper. You will need to be able to find the necessary information that you need online and use it to write the article. For example, you may need to write a review about a certain model or cell phone or car. This would involve finding the specifications and details on the subject, as well as looking up online comments to see what other people are saying about it.

This is why it is always a good idea to keep yourself on top of the news and what goes on in different industries. That way, you would be better prepared and already have some information about your disposal if you are asked to write about, say a new social networking site that has become very popular, or a revolutionary new mobile device that is changing the world of communication.

As a freelance writer, you need to be reliable and be able to meet deadlines. You also need to pay attention to client instructions in order to make sure that your work will reflect what the client wanted. By doing quality work and delivering it on time, you will be very likely to get regular clients which can be quite profitable for you.

Another thing that you must have is the ability to work fast. Especially when you are just starting out, most article writing jobs will only pay you from $5 to $10 per 500 word article. Now if it takes you all day just to produce one article, it will not be a very lucrative activity for you. Learn to optimize your research to be able to get the info that you need quicker and also be able to rapidly write down what you are thinking about.

Can “Cheap” Traffic Be Effective For CPA Offers?

When looking for a way to advertise some CPA offers online, you may have come across providers which offer cheap traffic coming from popup, popunder and intersitial (your page is displayed while another page is loading) ads. By browsing the internet, you may have seen these ads yourself. They are especially popular on sites which offer downloads, flash games, video sharing or picture uploading. As an internet marketer, the main question that might come to your mind is: does the traffic coming from these ads have the potential to earn me money?

The short answer is yes. However, you need to be aware of a few things before you run a campaign with traffic coming from these ad sources. Here are a few things that you need to consider:

The offer type that you should promote:

People who will be viewing these ads will NOT usually be in buying mode. That is, they will not be shopping for a product to buy. This is due to the fact that most of these ads are served on sites which primarily provide entertainment and distractions to the viewers. Therefore, promoting any offer which requires the buyer to use their credit card (even for a completely free trial) or to buy anything will usually give you poor results. So poor, that you have better odds of winning $50 in a scratch-off ticket than getting a conversion.

They work best with CPA offers that require very little action from the viewer. Email submit offers are pretty much the best thing to use them with. Even though they pay quite little (between $1 and $1.50 per lead usually), the traffic is very inexpensive and this makes it possible to turn a profit if you do it the right way.

Catching the users attention:

If you link directly to the offer, you will get poor results. The user will probably just get annoyed and ignore your ad or just close it. Therefore, you need to build a simple landing page that includes elements designed to get their attention to your ad and make them take the necessary action, which is clicking through to the offer and entering their email address.

There are various ways to do this. The first one would be to include a simple Javascript code that will make a dialog box appear (similar to a Windows error message). The dialog box can say “You have been selected to get [whatever your CPA offer is giving] for FREE! Only your email address is required to claim your gift!” Another tactic that you can try using is making use of an audio recording that tells the user they have been selected to receive a prize and they should enter their email address on the next page to claim it.

Don’t be afraid to experiment and try various things to get conversions. Remember, the traffic is quite cheap (you can get 1000 US visitors for less than $2 on some sites) so even if 1 out of every 200 people that see your ad actually do the email submit, you will still come out ahead.
