If you are involved in internet marketing in any way, you probably have many different tasks to do each day in order to run your online business smoothly. This is where problems can arise for some people. And it is also one of the main causes why people fail in this business. They often spend too much time reading and researching information, and not enough time actually making things happen, which basically involves putting in action what they have learned.
Whether you are just starting out in the IM business, or have some experience under your belt, you will want to spend some of your time reading information, researching, and collaborating with other internet marketers like yourself. Right there, this is where some may get carried away. Websites, blogs, e-books and forums all contain a wealth of information about various opportunities to make some money online. Let’s not forget that in order for the knowledge that you have acquired to be profitable for you, you need to actually try things and put them in action.
Unfortunately, many simply spend hours on end downloading ebooks, posting on forums, or reading IM blogs with the hope that they would find something absolutely great that will be a guaranteed money maker. Even when they do find something interesting, they often keep on reading other things until there is no time left to actually try anything this day, so they put it to tomorrow. When tomorrow comes, the same cycle repeats itself.
There is a simple way to overcome this. Every day, make yourself a schedule and stick to it. Depending on how much time you have each day to devote to your online business, set aside a portion of your time that will be used only for researching information and learning. After all, the IM world is constantly evolving, and keeping up to date with new developments is crucial.
When you are learning, take down notes of information you find relevant to you, such as advice on advertising methods, tips on finding better keywords, etc. The second part of your schedule would involve putting in action what you have just learned. Creating PPC campaigns, uploading videos, writing articles, etc. And finally, you will want to take some time to review your progress and check the results that your previous efforts have given you.
Another useful piece of advice: keep your tools, resource materials, and login information organized. For example, if you download several ebooks in a day, make sure to put them into folders by category and give them descriptive names. That way, if you are looking for your guide on Adwords, you won’t have to search for an hour before finding it on your hard drive. You can also store all of your login information for your affiliate accounts, forums, advertising accounts, etc. in a simple password protected spreadsheet or database on your hard drive. Doing this has on numerous occasions saved me from going back to my email box in order to find what the password for a CPA account that I rarely used was.
