A Quick CPA Idea – Survey Offers

We all know that you can make money from survey sites by completing various surveys. But the issue often encountered with this money making method is that it doesn’t generate much revenue. Plus, some of the surveys could be long and on topics that don’t really interest you. This could make it quite tedious.

But there is another way to make money from these sites. Many survey sites are found on CPA networks. These offers pay anywhere between $1.50 to $5 for each panelist that signs up through your CPA link. All you would need to do is build a simple website that lists some of the survey sites, along with details about them (how much they usually pay per survey, how long it takes to get paid, etc.). It’s also a good idea to include some information that will teach visitors how survey sites work and how to maximize their earnings with them. The site itself doesn’t need to be fancy. A simple one-page site with a good layout will do.

Now, you are probably wondering how to get traffic to the site. After all, traffic is the key when promoting any type of CPA offer online. While it is possible to use pay per click ads, this niche is very competitive and it will be quite hard to turn up a profit, unless you are willing to do a lot of testing and optimizing.

There are some more efficient and less expensive ways:

Buy banner space on “Get paid to” web sites. These are sites where people get paid to read emails or sign up for web sites. One example of a decent, high traffic site with good advertising rates is DonkeyMails.com. Since the people on these sites are already seeking to earn money, the traffic would be quite targeted. Design an attractive banner or have a freelancer do it for a few dollars.

Another, more indirect advertising method is to use online classifieds sites, such as Backpage, Gumtree and Craigslist. However, it is not recommended that you link directly to your site, as the ad will look “spammy” and get flagged down rather quickly. Instead, write an ad that looks like this “Market research panelists needed. Earn $$$ today for your opinion. Contact Bob at (insert email) for more information.” You will get plenty of responses. Simply send them the link to your site by email.

Another effective way is to distribute paper fliers locally. Simply design a good looking flier and pass it out in the streets. For best results, pass these out on college campuses, or outsource the task to a student. College students are often looking for quick ways to earn money, so you will get more sign ups from them than from most other demographics.

To earn even more money, create one page for each country that you have CPA survey offers for. There are many offers that are only for the USA, Canada or UK. Then, target your advertising to these countries, for example by posting on Canadian cities in Craigslist.

Choosing A Web Hosting Provider – Part 1

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Choosing A Web Hosting Provider – Part 1

If you are going to do business online, chances are you will need to put together a website. Whether you will only have one main website for your business or will need several different sites in order to promote products, you will obviously need a place to host your site. Here are certain things to look for when selecting a web host:

Bandwidth and storage

Today, many web hosting providers offer unlimited or very high storage limits. If your site is just a few pictures and some text pages, this won’t be much of a concern for you. But if you plan on running several sites, or include content that takes up a lot of space like videos or interactive games, it is something to look at. Bandwidth is the amount of data that can be transferred to and from your site every month. It won’t be much of a concern if you are just getting a few hundred hits a day or less and your site is relatively small in size. But if you host multimedia content such as streaming videos, or your site gets immensely popular all of a sudden, you may get close to your bandwidth limit. Note that if your bandwidth usage goes through the roof, even a host with supposedly “unlimited” bandwidth can kick you out.

Reliability

Everyone wants their site to be available at all times. After all, every minute that your site is down could mean lost money for you. While every host will advertise something like 99.9% reliability, it can be quite difficult to determine whether this is actually real or if it’s just an advertising gimmick. The best way to find out is to read some reviews online from some other webmasters to see what they think about a particular web host.

Price

Of course, this is a main point in making a decision about signing up for any service, including a web host. With decreasing costs and competition in the industry, the cost of web hosting has gone down in recent times. Do take note that certain web hosts require that you prepay for a certain amount of time. Some of them also give monthly rates, but they could work out to be more expensive than if you had taken a plan and paid in advance for a year or more. But you also need to consider as to whether you still plan on having that site up during all that time. Note that even if you decide to build a new site and get rid of your old one, you could still keep your hosting account. You would just need to get a new domain name and set it to point to your hosting account. But note that price should not be your main concern. Even if a host gives the best rates but their server goes down for hours each day, it will not be much of a benefit for you to use them.

Are You Ready For Your Own Home Based Business?

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Are You Ready For Your Own Home Based Business?

Many would like to believe that setting up a home based business is easy and requires little preparation on your part. In reality, this is not entirely true. There are a few things that you first need to get in order before you start any type of online or home based business, and also some facts about the industry that you need to be aware of.

Set up your work space the right way.

First, you need to prepare the space where you would be working. If you live alone in a 1 bedroom apartment, this wont take much from you. But if you have kids, a dog and a host of other distractions, you need set up a dedicated workspace where you can work without being distracted. Remember that distractions while working will cause lost productivity.

Plan your schedule accordingly.

While ads for online business products will often tell you things like “work anytime you want, anywhere you want”, you still need to be well organized. Plan ahead and determine during which hours of the day you will be working, and what you will be working on during that time. Not having a schedule will often result in running out of time to do the work that you have to do during the day, and then having to play catch-up tomorrow.

Know that you will be responsible for all of your decisions.

If you own a home based business an work for yourself, you have the advantage of making your own decisions at all times and not having a boss breathe down your neck. While, of course, this is a positive thing, it also means that you have a lot more responsibility. You can’t blame coworkers, team members or superiors in case something goes wrong, because you don’t have any. This is why you always need to be aware of the consequences that your decisions will have on your business, both immediately and further down the road.

Make sure that you are financially prepared.

While certain types of online businesses can be started with little or no money, in most cases you would need to invest a bit in things such as web hosting, domain names, advertisements, etc. Furthermore, the amount of money that you make could vary from month to month depending on how well you are doing. Unlike a “regular” job, there is no guarantee that you would make a specific amount of income every month. You could also end up making no money whatsoever during certain periods. You should prepare yourself for these circumstances and always have a backup plan should something go wrong with your current business model. For example, if you are reselling goods on eBay, your main supplier could go out of business and leave you nothing to sell. If you had maintained adequate inventory in stock at all times, or several backup suppliers for your merchandise, this wouldn’t affect you as much.

Keep Your Facebook Friends Happy

Keep Your Facebook Friends Happy

If you’re using Facebook as a marketing tool, you know how important it is to have a lot of active Facebook friends. One of the biggest challenges of using Facebook as a marketing tool is keeping those friends happy, and keeping their attention. Fortunately, there are a few things you can do to keep them from losing interest in you.

Wall Posts

Be careful about what you post on other people’s walls. If you feel tempted to post messages advertising your products or services on other people’s walls, resist that urge. If you do, the only thing you’ll achieve is getting people to unfriend you. Instead, post friendly messages on other people’s walls, and try to get them to visit your Facebook page. You don’t have to directly advertise to your Facebook friends to get their attention. Try being friendly, and drawing other Facebook users to your profile, and from ther, let your profile do the rest of the work for you.

Be Social

Take the time to interact with other Facebook users. Social networking is all about being social, and if you don’t take the time to be friendly, and interact with other users, you’re not going to get all you should be getting out of Facebook. Be sure to answer any messages you get, and take the time to comment on wall posts. The more effort you put into being social on Facebook, the more it will pay off for you in the long run.

Talk About Them

People love to hear about themselves. Take the time to look at your friends’ Facebook profiles, and talk to them about their interests, and their projects. By taking the time to get to know your friends, and talk about them, you’ll be sure to get their attention, and draw them into your profile. The more interest you show in them, the more interest they’ll show in you.

If your Facebook friends are happy, and interested in what you’re saying, you’ll be more likely to get more out of them. Keep that in mind as you use Facebook, and you’ll be able to use it as an effective marketing tool.

Don’t Waste Money Buying Subscribers Or Friends

Whether you’re involved in email marketing or social media marketing, it can be extremely tempting to buy more friends or subscribers. Resist that temptation. A lot of companies offer thousands of subscribers, or friends for one “low low price”, but the ACTUAL price of those new subscribers and friends is much higher than you want to pay.

The first thing to keep in mind is that you have no way of knowing how those subscribers or friends were obtained. In the case of email addresses, the addresses could have been obtained either illegally, or at the very least, fraudulently. If that’s the case, well, we don’t need to explain to you why you don’t want any parts of that.

Social media friends could also have been obtained through nefarious means. If someone is offering you a lot of friends for a low price, it’s possible that all of these friends are either fake accounts, or accounts that have been hacked, and used as part of this deal. Again, if that’s the case, you don’t want any parts of it.

Let’s assume for a minute that all of the subscribers and friends you buy were obtained legally. If that’s the case, then you have no way of knowing how many of those email addresses, or social media accounts are still active. People abandon both every day, and there’s nothing stopping these companies from selling you inactive users.

Let’s assume that all the accounts were legally obtained, and that they’re all active. There’s still no way to know that all of the new subscribers or friends you’re buying will be interested in your products or services. You might very well be buying subscribers and friends that are just going to mark you as spam, and ignore you.

If enough people flag you as spam, then you’ll have a hard time getting your emails to make it to anyone’s inbox, and your social media accounts could get closed. In short, the price of those cheap friends and subscribers could be an extreme slow down in your online marketing efforts. In the long run, it’s just not worth it.

Creating Incentives for Affiliates

Creating Incentives for Affiliates

Affiliate marketing is something we talk about quite a bit here, but one area we don’t always touch on enough is creating your own products. We have talked about it a bit, but I haven’t touched on one very valuable area of affiliate marketing — creating an incentive for your affiliates to try and sell your product.

Below are four rock solid ways for you to help your affiliates to sell your product and to make it easier on them.

Create Banners For Them
One of the easiest things you can do is create banners and graphics for your affiliates to display. It saves them time and money creating them banners for themselves to sell YOUR product, and it will keep your branding and identity of your product consistent.

Give Away a Prize
At launch, giving away a high valued prize can be a great incentive for people to work hard and sell your product. For example, a lot of affiliates give away a MacBook Pro or Apple iPad to the top selling affiliate after so many weeks or months. Nothing gives more incentive than cool gadgets and cold hard cash.

Make it Easy
Create a great product that people want to use. Don’t take shortcuts on your landing page design and make sure your sales copywriting is rock solid. Having a good product and a good website and layout is essential in getting affiliates in the first place. Every time I sign up for an affiliate program or to sell someone’s product, I go to their product page to see 1) Does the product fit my niche? 2) How well is the website laid out? 3) What is the sales copywriting look like? 4) Is the site easy to use, uncluttered and is it easy to find the “order” page (the most essential page!)? Create a good product and great site and you will be very successful if you take care of your affiliates.

Have a High Payout
Do not be cheap when it comes to payouts, because people love making money. If they are going to go through a ton of effort for your product, they better have a great reason why — money. If your product is $30, you should think of $15 as the minimum and $20 as a number down the road potentially. Why? The more people selling your product the more products you will sell, so you will try and make it up in mass sales.

The Power Of Incentives

The Power Of Incentives

Getting people to sign up for your newsletter, subscribe for a service you’re offering, or sign up for your website can be difficult. A lot of people will just choose not to sign up for whatever you’re offering for a simple reason, or no reason at all other than the fact that you didn’t grab their attention. One way to get people to do what you want them to is to offer them some incentive for doing what you want.

Contests

A contest is a great way to get new sign ups for your email list, or your website. Just offer a decent prize to one lucky winner who is a member of your site, Be sure to be clear about the terms of the contest, and spell the rules out clearly. Once you have your contest set up, spend some time and effort promoting it. Once people hear about the contest, they’ll start signing up for you site whether they have a healthy interest in your niche or not. That, unfortunately, is the down side of running a contest. Not every new sign up you get will be a useful, and high quality customer. Some people will sign up even if they have no interest in what you’re offering. and as such, they won’t add any value to your business. Still, a contest is a great way to draw in a lot of new customers.

Gifts

If you offer a gift to new sign ups, even if it’s a small one, it might just be the deciding factor in whether they do what you want them to or not. Even something simple like a coupon might be the final selling point that gets them to do what you’re asking them to. The gift doesn’t have to be fancy, but the better it is, the more of an incentive to do whatever it is you want people to do it will be.

If you want to draw new people to your site, or your mailing list, incentives are a great way to do that. A simple gift, or the chance to win a half decent prize might very well make the difference between getting new customers, and not getting them. People will do things they wouldn’t normally do for a gift, or a prize, so keep that in mind as you offer incentives to your audience.

Choose A Social Media Manager

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Choose A Social Media Manager

Running a social media marketing campaign can be a tricky process. Each different social media site has it’s own pro’s and cons, and if you don’t know how to work within the confines of a particular site, you’re not going to be able to use it effectively as part of your marketing campaign. If you’re not familiar with all the ins and outs of social media marketing, you might want to hire a social media marketing manager.

If you’re going to hire a social media manager, it’s important to hire the right person for the job. Your reputation can take a lot of serious, irreversible damage if your social media marketing campaign is run poorly, so you need to be sure you’re hiring someone with experience, and knowledge about how to use social media effectively.

When you’re talking to a candidate, don’t be afraid to ask for references. Take a look at any other social media campaigns they have worked on or are currently working on, and take the time to examine those accounts closely. Make sure that your candidate handled themselves professionaly on the social media accounts they ran for other people. If you see any signs that they may have been inconsistent, or anything other than professional when dealing with previous clients, they may not be the social media manager for you.

It’s also a good idea to take a look at their own social media accounts. A good social media manager will have accounts set up to promote themselves. Those accounts should be updated regularly, and they should have high quality friends and followers. Numbers aren’t everything – just because they have a lot of friends or followers that doesn’t mean they are high quality friends and followers. Look to see how often they interact with other people on social media sites, and you’ll get a good idea of how well they manage their own social media accounts

If you take the time to pick the right person for the job, you’ll be on your way to a successful social media marketing campaign. Social media can have a huge impact on your reputation, so it’s important to treat it with the right level of importance.

Build A Better Squeeze Page

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Build A Better Squeeze Page

Your squeeze page (or opt in page) is your way of introducing your visitors to your email list, and as such, it needs to have a few specific elements in place in order to convince them to sign up. People get a lot of email each day, and convincing them to sign up for another mailing list isn’t always easy, but if you have all the right elements in place, you’ll get as many new subscribers as you can.

Headline

Right at the top of the page, you should have an attractive headline. Your headline should be brief – one sentence is enough. It should also be catchy. For example, instead of something like “These five training modules will help you learn the PHP programming language” you might want to use something like “Learn PHP in just FIVE steps”. That way, the viewer will get excited about your list, and they’ll be more inclined to sign up.

Bullet Points

Instead of forcing your readers to wade through paragraphs upon paragraphs of text to find out why they should care about your list, give them the major highlights of your product in a bulleted list. That way they can get a clear picture of what you’re offering right away. To be clear, include the paragraphs that describe things in more detail, just do so after the bulleted list.

Opt In Box

You should have an opt in box for your list right at the top of the page. You don’t want to make your readers scroll down the page if they know they’re interested in signing up. The further down the page you put the opt in box, the less likely your readers are to sign up for your list. Keep that in mind as you lay out your squeeze page.

Putting these elements in place on your opt in page will help you get more subscribers to your list. Email marketing is getting more and more challenging, but by setting up a strong squeeze page, you can still use it effectively. Remember, include a strong headline, a bulleted list of benefits to the customer, and put your opt in box near the top of the page. Doing those things will help you to be successful with email marketing.

Build A Relationship With Your List

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Build A Relationship With Your List

There’s no question about it, email marketing is extremely challenging. A lot of emails wind up in spam folders without ever getting looked at, which means that all the work that went into that email was for nothing. If you want the time you spend creating your emails to count, you have to take a few steps to ensure that your emails will get read, rather than deleted, or flagged as spam.

First and foremost, it’s important to understand that you’re never going to get everyone to read your emails and respond to them by buying your products and visiting your site. Almost everyone gets a lot of newsletters, and other promotional emails in their inbox every day, and they’re just not going to read every one. You can increase the chances that yours will get read by working to build a relationship with your subscribers.

In order to build a relationship with your subscribers, you have to give them some really strong reasons to keep opening your emails. For starters, be sure to do more than just send advertisements to them. Send out emails with interesting information about your niche. Link to any news that might be of interest to your subscribers, and maybe even give them your take on it. Do everything you can to both inform, and entertain your readers instead of just advertising to them. If they see that you’re sending out great information, they’ll be more likely to keep reading your emails as they show in their inboxes.

It’s also a good idea to engage your subscribers in a conversation. For example, you could include a poll in one email, and the results of that poll in the next email. That way, you can get some useful user feedback, and engage the reader. When you ask your subscribers questions, and include them in what’s going on with your company and your products, you create a feeling of inclusion in the reader. If they feel like a part of your company, and they feel like they’re engaged by your emails, they will be more inclined to keep reading your emails.

It can be tough to keep your emails from getting lost in the sea of messages in your subscribers’ inboxes, but if you work to inform and engage your subscribers, you’ll find that they pay attention to your emails.

Why Is It Hard To Succeed With An Online Business?

Starting a new online business can be tough. We’ve covered some of the things you will need to do, and some concepts you’ll need to keep in mind, now let’s take a look at some of the challenges you’ll face.

Tedium

Many of the tasks you’ll have to complete for your online business are extremely tedious. Keyword research, copy writing, and setting up a website all take a great deal of time to execute. None of the tasks you’ll have to do are terribly difficult, but most of them take up a good bit of time. It can be difficult to stay focused on tedious tasks, especially in the beginning. When you’re first starting out, the rewards for your efforts won’t be clear, and it might feel like you’re doing a lot of work for a little yield. It’s important to push through this part of the process.

Profits

In the beginning, you’re not going to make a lot of money. In fact, you might go as much as a month or two without bringing in a single penny. One of the main reasons why people fail with online businesses is that they give up when their new business isn’t profitable right away. It’s important to keep going even if you’re not seeing a monetary reward for your efforts. If you keep going, you’ll get to a point where you’re profiting.l If you quit, you’ll never make a dime.

Learning Curve

While most of the tasks involved in running an online business are pretty straightforward, a lot of the knowledge necessary to perform those tasks effectively is not. There are a lot of new terms,a nd concepts to learn about when you’re starting out with an online business, and if you don’t take the time to do the learning, you’re just setting yourself up for failure down the line.

Starting a new online business can be very challenging. The secret to success is persevering through the hard parts, and making your way through to a time when it gets easier. The key to online success is sticking with it. The challenges you’ll face early on might make you feel like you should give up, but if you don’t stick with it, you can’t succeed with it. Hang in there, and you’ll see the rewards before you know it.

Five Steps To Starting Your Online Business

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Five Steps To Starting Your Online Business

So, you’re thinking about starting an online business, but you’re not sure about what steps to take to get it off the ground. While there is no “one size fits all” method for reaching success, there are a few basic steps you should take when you’re starting out. It’s important to start with a strong foundation for your online business, and these steps will help you do just that.

Define The Purpose

Your online business should be based on a goal, or a series of goals. Those goals will dictate the other steps in your business strategy, so it’s important to establish them before doing anything else. For example, if your business is geared at selling a product, your strategy will be different than if it’s geared at getting subscribers, or making ad revenue.

Define Your Target Audience

It’s important to know who you’ll be gearing your online business toward. Different audiences require different marketing approaches, Take the time do do some research on who is interested in your niche. Is your audience mostly male, or female? What age group do they fall into? What level of income do they have? What other interests do they have? All of this information can help you to create a more effective marketing strategy for your new business.

Look At The Competition

Your target audience probably has certain expectations from a site like yours based on what other sites are already doing. Take the time to look at your competition, and see what they’re doing. You should be offering all of the basic features they are, along with any additional features that you feel you can provide to your customers.

Marketing Strategy

Now that you know a lot about your audience, and what they expect, it’s time to form a marketing strategy. There are a lot of different ways to go about marketing your product, including ads, social media, and article marketing, but you’re going to have to pick the strategies that work best for you. There’s no guarantee that every strategy will work for every online business, so pick and choose your methods carefully based on what you know about your audience.

Learn And Earn

Online business requires you to learn as you go. Test different marketing strategies against one another, and see what works best for you. Keep looking for new methods to reach your target audience, and keep looking for ways to lower your costs. As technology changes, so too does online business.

Keep these five steps in mind as you start out, and you’ll be off to a good start with online business.

Give Your Customers A Voice With Social Media

Give Your Customers A Voice With Social Media

If you’ve been reading this site, you probably know social media sites can be a great marketing tool. By building up a strong social media account, you can get your message out to your target audience quickly and easily. Social media can serve another, equally important purpose too. It can also allow you to give your customers a voice.

Your customers care about your products. If they weren’t interested in your products, they wouldn’t have bought them, or they wouldn’t be thinking about buying them. In short, people are looking at your social media account because they are interested in what you have to offer.

If you give them the chance to interact with you, and get to know the person (or people) behind your business, you can generate a lot of positive attention from your customers, and your potential customers. By interacting directly with them, you’re giving your company a personality, and by doing that, you’re helping people to identify with your company, and develop a positive attitude toward your products.

Pay attention to the people that comment on your blog frequently, and post on your Facebook wall all the time. If someone reaches out to you on a regular basis, return the favor. Be sure to take some time and acknowledge them, and their loyalty. By acknowledging your frequent commenteors, you’re showing the rest of your visitors that you appreciate their attention, and you are glad to have them as customers. When you do that, you generate a great deal of brand loyalty among your customers. People will continue to shop with someone they trust, and feel appreciated by.

So remember, when you’re setting up your social media accounts, it’s extremely important to get personal with your audience. By drawing them in, and showing them the personal side of your business, you can generate a real sense of customer loyalty. If your customers feel personally vested in your brand, they’ll keep coming back. Over time, those repeat sales will be great for business.

3 Ways to Make Money Blogging

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

3 Ways to Make Money Blogging

Making money while blogging is a great sounding idea, but it is even harder to put into practice. Writing takes time, dedication, and creative thoughts. Then there is the promotion, networking, social networking, blog design, and blog maintenance to keep up with. The other areas take away from the core of writing for a purpose and should be the secondary thing after your content. If you write an article per day, do that first, then promote and maintain second. Great content is still king.

Making money should be the next thing to worry about – after you do the other stuff and after you have some great content. There are plenty of ways to make money from your blog, such as advertising, but today we are going to touch on three very different ways you can make a great profit from your website. Most professional bloggers do at least one of these, allowing them to rake in sometimes hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. But don’t worry, most of us aren’t that lucky. Being able to break even on a blog is a great start, then after that focus on paying for your gas every week for your car. Once you have reached that, try to pay for your cellphone bill and gas. Keep moving up until you have scaled to the point you want to be at that you can maintain while staying sane. With that, let’s look at 3 ways to make money blogging.

Affiliate Revenue
Signing up to be an affiliate for products that are close to your niche can be a great way to create some income. You can promote established products and link to them from your blog. You will receive a portion of the sales of those products when someone visits and purchases the product from your affiliate link. This is a great way to get your feet wet before trying to create your own products. A good example is Copyblogger.com where he promotes professional blogging software such as Thesis theme.

Create a Product
Creating your own product related to your niche is a great way to make a lot of money, especially if you have a big audience of 2-3k unique visitors per month. Create an enticing ebook, membership site, or video series and promote them on your blog and through affiliates on other websites.

Write for Someone Else
If you are just getting started, don’t be afraid to write for someone else so that you can start getting some income right away. It will help offset your startup costs and give you some real cash to spend.
