Creating a Good Content Marketing Campaign: Part 1

Content marketing is something that’s talked about a lot in online marketing circles. If you search any forum or online marketing information site, you will find tons of entries about it. Some people may think that it’s something that affiliate marketers use to push shady nutritional supplement CPA offers or the latest “make money now” ebook from Clickbank. Sure, it can be used for that. But it can also be an important element in a businesses overall online marketing strategy. It can help a company connect with its audience, promote its brand and draw attention to itself. Sometimes it can lead to direct sales. Other times, it will just inform the site visitor and let them make the decision as to whether the company’s products are right for them at this very moment.

If you’re serious about deploying a content marketing strategy for your business, then you need to do things in a well planned way. You wouldn’t start a Google Adwords campaign without doing the proper research beforehand. You shouldn’t start content marketing without a plan either. Before you even define your objectives and see what you want to accomplish by using this kind of marketing approach, there are a few questions that you need to ask yourself.

Here are some of the main ones:

Do you really know your company and your brand?

You may say “sure I do!” but when it comes to creating content, you need to ask yourself: what exactly does my company do and what is its purpose. What do you want it to do in the future and how do you want to get there successfully. This will help guide you into producing the right kind of content.

You also need to be aware of your brand and its overall style. Do you want to keep going as you’ve been doing right now, or are there certain things you want to change? If until now, you’ve taken a more traditional and serious approach, it may not be a good idea to start loading every page with jokes and using memes just because it “looks cool” and you’ve seen others do it. If your brand isn’t that popular online yet, changing direction may be possible, but you should know that it will affect the way your audience sees your company for a long time. Therefore, you need to think about both the short and long term implications of the content that you’re going to post online for marketing purposes.

These are the two main things that you need to reflect about when you’re starting an online content marketing campaign. Of course, there are other elements that you need to keep in consideration to build a complete marketing strategy that you can use in the long term. There are additional elements that we will explore tomorrow and will give you a clearer picture.

Content Marketing: What to Post and When to Post It

Content Marketing: What to Post and When to Post It

When it comes to content marketing, you may have heard that to achieve success with this marketing technique, you need to create content that will be popular with your audience all year round. That way, your content will never go “out of date” and will be relevant to the user no matter when they read it. But is this really the best strategy? It is possible to create seasonal content that will give you good results, all while retaining a base of content that is good all year round. Remember, search traffic follows certain established trends. So searches for Halloween costume ideas aren’t too high in January. But as October begins, they will start to pick up and eventually explode in popularity, only to taper down quickly as the holiday is over.

Research and Profit From Trends

In every industry, you will see certain trends when it comes to content. For example, on technology news websites, there will often be a lot of discussion and speculation some time prior to when a new smartphone is launched. Then, there will be the post launch talk when users and reviewers actually have the product in hand. After this, the volume of traffic related to the new smartphone will begin to go down. Of course, this applies to other things besides technology. Take sports, for example. During the hockey season, there will be various trends, such as anticipating who will make it to the playoffs, speculating which team is the most likely to win the conference final and lastly once the playoffs are advancing, there will be increased talk about who will be the most likely to win the Stanley Cup.

You Can Prepare Your Content in Advance

Not all trends are the same. Some aren’t really too predictable. For example, it will be hard to figure out what new things will come to tablet PCs next year, as it’s a fast paced topic. But some trends are cyclic and happen each and every year. The holiday shopping seasons will have similar happenings each and every year. After all, Santa Claus will still be a part of Christmas 2, 3 or 10 years down the road and people will still dress up for Halloween for as long as the holiday is celebrated.

This means that you can plan your content well in advance and get some ideas on what you will want to write about before the content becomes relevant. If you’re a company that provides accounting services, you can write articles related to tax preparation advice long before tax season and then simply publish them as the filing deadline approaches.

Preparing some of your content in advance can save you time, especially if your business is very busy at certain times of the year.

Profiting From Tablet Devices

Profiting From Tablet Devices

We‘ve seen how tablets tablets are becoming a lot more popular among the general population and new models, like the Kindle Fire are getting a lot of attention. Tablet PCs have actually had a run that is similar to smartphones. Previously a business tool that was used only by a segment of the population, they have now fallen into mainstream consumer devices, with all classes of people having an interest in owning one.

There are, of course, several different models of them on the market today, so if you want a comparison of their features and specifications, there is plenty of free information to look at. But as marketers and online entrepreneurs, what interests us mainly is the online money making opportunities that come from these devices. Actually, there are several ways that you can make money off the surge in popularity of tablets. Here are some of them:

  • Selling the devices themselves

If you look at eBay, for example, you will find that there is a large selection of tablets available, sometimes at prices that are better than what you would pay if you go through the official channels like in an Apple store. There is also a growing market for refurbished or used devices, as plenty of consumers would like to get a tablet, without paying the full price for a new one.

To profit from these, all you need is to find a source that can supply the devices at a low price and then you can resell them online (or even offline if you want) at a profit. There are now businesses which make money by buying back damaged tablets, fixing them and then selling them again as refurbished to budget conscious consumers.

  • Selling accessories and parts

Now that there is a bigger demand for tablets, there is also a bigger demand for items that are related to these devices. All kinds of cases and skins are now being sold to owners of tablet PCs. There is also a market for other aftermarket accessories like wall chargers, USB cables, innovative charging devices that let someone recharge their mobile device by using solar power and more.

Finally, just like with PC parts, we have tablet parts that are being sold, which are often bought by independent repair technicians, as well as some individual consumers that want to try and fix the device themselves after the warranty runs out. Most common parts that sell well online include replacement screens and batteries. Again, the simple concept of buying low and selling high applies. You check which items are in demand, find a good supplier that provides them at a lower price and then resell them at a profit through online marketplaces or an e-commerce site that you’ve put together.

There are a few other ways we can make money from tablet PCs. Check back tomorrow for a few other ideas that could let you make some money.

How Mobile Payment Solutions Work: Part 2

How Mobile Payment Solutions Work: Part 2

You’ve now learned a lot more about how mobile payment solutions work online and what they’re good for. But before you implement them as a method of payment on your site, there are a few final considerations that you would need to keep in mind. This will let you know what you can expect if you want to use mobile billing with your online business.

Everyone Gets a Share of the Action

Getting the funds from the customer’s mobile account into your hands may seem simple in theory, but the reality is far more complex than that. There are thousands of mobile carriers around the world. In order for a payment processor to be able to collect money from them, they need to go through some rather complex networks of financial agreements and clearinghouses. Of course, this means that they will discount a fee for each transaction made. So you can’t really expect to get the full $5 if a customer makes a $5 purchase on your site. Due to the fact that billing to a mobile is far more complex than billing to a credit card, the fees charged to merchants are usually very high. For each transaction, you can expect to receive only 40 to 70% maximum of the total amount that was actually paid for by the customer. Now there is a possibility that the system will change in the future and more efficient networks will be set up to deal with collecting the payments and forwarding them to the merchants, but for now, high transaction fees are simply part of the game and it will probably stay that way for a few years at least.

Getting Paid is Slow

Don’t expect to get the money in your bank the next day, or even next week. In fact, settlement for all transactions can take anywhere from 30 to 90 days after they were made. This is because the payment processor needs to collect the funds from each mobile phone carrier before they’re able to pay you as a merchant.

On the Bright Side, Fraud and Chargebacks are Low

When a customer disputes a mobile billing transaction with their carrier, due to the low amounts involved, most simply have a policy of crediting the customer the amount they’re disputing and giving them information on how to cancel the subscription. This happens quite often when a teenager buys a few dozen songs or items for an online game and then claims not to know anything about it when his parents get the mobile bill. Therefore, unless there is evidence that a merchant attempted to mislead customers about the cost of the transactions or otherwise deliberately engaged in malicious business practices, chargebacks, although theoretically possible, are very rare.

With all the information presented here, you should have a clearer picture of what accepting mobile payment entails to you as a merchant and can now make a better decision as to whether or not you will want to accept them on your website.

More Tips to Build Your Authority Online: Part 2

For those who want to make their site an authority in their respective niche, there are quite a few tips that could be beneficial for them. Here is some more advice about building up your website’s authority.

  • Remember That it Takes Time

If you want to get recognized as a useful source of information in your niche, then you must be aware of the fact that this is something that will take time to build properly. Building authority isn’t about adding a lot of content to your site in a short amount of time. The content needs to be of high quality and the visitors interested in your niche will need some time to arrive to your site. Remember that this is a long term project and treat it as such.

  • Reserve a Place on Your Site For Informational Content

Building authority with a website that simply sells products or that just talks about the advantages of products that you sell is going to be very difficult. Therefore, your website should have a section where you talk about your niche in general. Of course, you can always explain to your users how some of your products can be helpful for them, but this section shouldn’t be a constant sales pitch to the visitors. To make things easier, you can add a separate blog to your website, as blogging systems such as WordPress and Joomla are perfectly designed to share information with your visitors and have many features that allow sharing and information exchange, such as the ability to easily include social network and bookmarking links, plus allowing your readers to respond to what you’ve posted by putting a space for comments.

  • Don’t Be Alone in Creating Your Content

If you look at websites that are ranked very high in their respective niches (like ZDNet in the IT niche, for example), you will obviously see that they have many different people who write articles, create videos, etc. for them. Trying to build an entire authority site all by yourself might be possible, however it may get quite difficult and tedious in the end.

There are ways around this problem. You can, for example, invite guest bloggers who will write blog posts for you. There is also the possibility of outsourcing some of the website content creation to others who are experienced in your niche. You should have no trouble finding people who can write blog articles, create videos and interactive presentations, etc. This will mean some additional costs for you, however your website will be a lot richer in information for the users and therefore will stand a much higher chance of getting recognized by others as a genuinely useful source of information on your niche.

  • Ask Users What They Want to See

By doing so, you will make your website visitors feel more important. This will also make them more likely to return to your website and share the stuff that they’ve seen with others. Remember that the happier your users are, the more likely they are to go back to your site.

More Tips to Build Your Authority Online

If you’re using social media to try to build your authority on the internet, you’re using one of the best tools available to accomplish this. But in order for this to bring you the results you expect, there are certain things you need to do in order to succeed. We’re now presenting you some more tips that you can use to reach your goals:

  • Ensure That Your Website Works and Works Well

Building authority means that you will get more traffic to your site and that you will get a lot more interaction with your visitors, such as getting comments on your blog posts. For this reason, you will need to make sure that your website is accessible at all times and doesn’t run into any type of problems. Using a shared web hosting account for a site that gets 50 visitors a day and a few comments on your blog may be fine. However, many webmasters have reported running into problems as soon as the traffic picked up, people started interacting with their site more and viewing more pages on it, as well as using interactive features such as comments and discussion forums on a site. Because of this, you need to start thinking of your options about what happens when you outgrow your shared hosting account. If you stay with the $5 a month “unlimited” hosting account you have now, you may soon realize that it wasn’t all that unlimited when your site keeps crashing all the time or your host takes you offline because you’re putting too much strain on their server. Consider getting a dedicated or VPS web hosting solution instead. It will cost a bit more, but you will also be making a lot more money from your website to compensate.

  • Make Sure That All Pages of Your Site Are Sociable

People love to share information that they found interesting, such as a blog post or article on your site. But this can also apply to pages that talk about products that you’re selling, such as sales pages. Include buttons for social media on all areas of your site, no matter what kind of content they carry. Enable comments on your blog posts and articles. Include social bookmarking options as well. And don’t forget email lists. While many people will be following you on Twitter or Facebook, this doesn’t mean that e-mail marketing is dead and doesn’t work anymore. Have an opt-in square where users can input their e-mail address and include a call to action as well. This works especially well for content pages. If a user is reading something and finds it interesting, they may be looking to get more from you later on. An opt-in link that offers access to more updates and information may work well for you.

There are a few other things that you can do to develop your online authority. Tomorrow we will take a closer look at what you can do to attract some followers and keep them interested.

More About the Google Panda Update

More About the Google Panda Update

Ever since the Google Panda Update has been launched, there has been a lot of talk about it in the online marketing world. However, many people still don’t understand what exactly the update is all about and how it can affect a website. Here is some more information about it and ways to avoid problems associated with this update from Google.

The most important things to understand is what Panda actually is. Essentially, it is a filter that weeds out content that doesn’t have enough substance. The filter is ran on a periodic basis. Every time that it is, all the content indexed by Google goes through the filter again. Therefore, any content that has been caught up in the filter the first time can go through if it has been improved enough. If it’s still poor, then it will remain there and suffer a penalty in the rankings.

Some have argued that Panda is a completely new way that Google uses to rank web pages. This actually isn’t true. There are more than 200 different factors that Google uses to rank pages in search engine results. The Panda update is just one of them.

The main purpose of the Panda update when it was released in February 2011 was to deal with “content farms”. These are websites that have been responsible for “polluting” search results by returning web pages that had little relevance to the keywords that were being searched for by the user. A content farm is a website that usually employs several writers (can sometimes range in the thousands), which create content such as articles, reports, blog posts, etc. that are targeted towards some popular keywords being searched. These sites profit from the traffic that they receive when users click on the ads that they publish, which are usually for products that are loosely related to what the content on the page talks about. The quality of the information on a content farm can vary. Some sites have nearly professional quality content, while on others it simply reads like a bunch of gibberish written by someone who hasn’t even mastered basic English.

Since then, several updates to Panda have been released, by the main purpose is still the same: keeping low quality content from ranking well in search results. Websites that were penalized because of the update have a chance to change things. To get rid of the penalty, all a webmaster needs to do is to remove the content that is of poor quality, or replace it with something that is well written and relevant to the keywords that are targeted on the site.

The basic principles of search engine optimization still apply. Websites that provide their users with high quality content and that target keywords which are closely related to what they have on their site should not experience too many issues with this, or any of the future updates done by Google to the way they rank search results.

Building a Successful Blog: Part 2

Building a Successful Blog: Part 2

There are a few others things that you need to know if you’re going to create a blog. Understanding how blogs work and the best kinds of content to add to one will make it more likely that your blog will appeal to its targeted audience. Here are some more tips that you can use in order to make your blog popular when it launches:

  • Understand That Blog Are About New Ideas

If you browse many blogs, you will notice that most of the good ones contain collections of new ideas and information. As such, keeping your blog updated on a regular basis will help you maintain your readership. Remember to keep the content original and fresh. Blogs aren’t only meant to be used as a reference tool on your niche, where you explain how to do certain things to your audience. Instead, include other types of posts, such as information on new events happening in your niche, as well as commentary on issues that you think are relevant. Your readers will enjoy having varied content to read on your blog a lot more than simply having one kind of article posted again and again.

  • Blogs Are Social By Nature

One thing that you need to know is that many of those that read blogs are also bloggers themselves. As such, if you write content that is good enough, you may have it syndicated on other blogs as well. There are many other opportunities for sharing and interaction with blogs. For example, allowing comments on your blog may add some useful content to it without you needing to take any action. RSS feeds allow readers to subscribe to your blog and be instantly notified if something new is posted. Also, adding social media buttons that allow people to like and share your blog posts is of course highly recommended, as it can increase your traffic and the popularity of your blog.

  • Your Blogs Headlines are Important

Creating compelling headlines for your blog posts is very important, especially if for when your blog gets indexed in search engines. The headline alone in that case could be the difference between someone reading your post and not reading it. There are many free guides and articles that you can find online about creating unique and captivating headlines, so it doesn’t have to be as difficult as it may seem at the beginning.

  • Organize Your Content Well

Content structure and organization are vital to a good blog. This can be achieved by dividing your posts into different categories. On the home page of your blog, you should make it as welcoming as possible to new readers, with your best content featured on the front page. Remember that the easier your blog is to navigate for your readers, the more likely they are to like it, come back to read it again and share it with others. Simply making it easier for them to find what they’re looking for can go quite a long way.

Creating Your Info Product: The Content – Part 2

Creating Your Info Product: The Content – Part 2

Now that you’re ready to create your new product, there are a few steps to take in order to plan and write the information that will be included in it. Here is how you can do it:

  • Think of what will be included

Think of what the main topic of your product will be within your niche. What problems will the product help the reader solve, which questions will it answer and what exactly will it instruct them on doing? By determining this, you will then have a good idea of what you will be including within your product.

  • Structure the information accordingly

As an informational product, the data contained in it needs to flow smoothly, rather than being all over the place. Think of the structure of your product, which materials will be covered first and how it will progress from there on. In many cases, it would be a good idea to divide the information into various chapters and include a table of contents, so that your readers can refer to your product at a later time as needed. By properly structuring the information within it, you will make your product a lot more “usable” and also a lot more valuable as a reference guide on your niche. This in turn will make it more likely to be seen as useful and your readers will be more interested in any future products that you release.

  • Do the needed research

When you create your products, you will probably need to do some research about your niche, such as about the facts, figures and methods that you will be including within it. Gather all the information that you will need and organize it according to the structure of your product. This will make it a lot easier for you to get the right information to put in as you are creating your product.

  • Think of the additional elements that you will add

If you’re writing an e-book, for example, chances are that you will want to include some additional elements that will go along with the text. This includes pictures, graphics, diagrams, screen shots, or links to external websites, such as services that your readers will need to sign up for to do some of the methods that you’re presenting in your guide. Gather up all of that information so that you can be ready to insert it at the appropriate places in your product.

  • Create the cover artwork for your product

One thing that you will also need is some artwork that you will be using to brand your product, like the logo, as well as the “e-cover” that is used in practically all informational products that are sold online. There are many graphics programs which are sold or available for free download online which can help you do both of these things. If you’re not so good with graphic arts, you can always outsource the creation of any artwork to a third party.

Attracting Quality Traffic To Your Blog: Part 2

Attracting Quality Traffic To Your Blog: Part 2

As far as getting traffic to a blog is concerned, there are numerous ways to achieve this. Here are some additional methods that you can use to get more traffic coming in to a blog:

  • Participate in Other Blog Comments

Blog comments are very diverse. Some are blatant spam, usually advertising some online casino or pharmacy site (the good thing is that most of these are picked up by spam filters automatically now anyways), many others add little or no value to the discussion (Yeah, I agree!/Good Post!/Thanks, etc). But some are truly insightful and genuinely add to the discussion on the topic of the blog post. By participating in other blog comments, you can get a link to your blog, which can be visited by other visitors and also the blog owner. If the owner of the blog finds that your comments are truly beneficial they may even add a link to your blog on their main page and share some of your posts on social media. This can bring you a lot of traffic, especially if you get linked to from a blog that is already popular.

  • Interact With Your Users

Allow your readers to leave comments on your blog. Read and respond to them. Allow your readers to subscribe to the comment thread through email or social media. By openly interacting with your readers, you will increase the amount of attention that they give to your blog and this will make them a lot more likely to come back or to share your content with others.

  • Establish a Strong Social Media Presence

Use social media such as Facebook, Google +, Twitter and maybe even video sharing sites such as YouTube or Daily Motion to complement your blog and bring more attention to it from users of these services. However, to get more success, remember that your social media pages should be more than simply links to your blog posts. You can post on social media sites whenever you update your blog and share that post, but be sure to include other, original content as well. The goal is to get a following on social media as well as on your blog. The more visitors and followers you’re going to have on your social media page the better the chances that some of these people will also become followers and readers of your blog.

  • Establish Yourself as An Authority in Your Niche

This is one of the hardest ways but also the most profitable in the long term. You will want your blog to be known and respected in your niche. This will give you access to many visitors, perhaps even thousands a day if your blog is very successful. How is this done? There are various methods that you can employ to increase the authority of your blog. Apply them, be patient and they will work. We will explore some of these methods tomorrow.

Tips for a Successful Blog: Having Good Content

We’ve seen all the good design elements which make a blog useful and likely to be profitable for you. But now there’s one important thing that you need to figure out: the content of your new blog. Your visitors will come to your blog to read something that is interesting and informative in their eyes. Therefore, you will need to ensure that what you have on your blog will keep your readers happy and make them want to come back to it for more. Here is some good advice on how you can accomplish this:

Make Regular Posts

If you want your readers to stay interested in your blog, then you would need to make new posts on a regular basis. This doesn’t mean you have to post every day if you’re just going to end up repeating what you’ve said in the past few days. But you shouldn’t leave your blog without any new updates for several weeks, as people may think that the blog is “dead” and that you’re no longer actively maintaining it. By making regular posts, readers will be more eager to know when you’ve added something to your blog.

Keep Your Posts Brief and to the Point

If you have a lot to say about a certain topic, then it would be better for you to break it up into several different posts that discuss the main points you would like to make. You could have a “series” of posts that focus on a certain aspect of your niche.

Format Your Posts Well

One good example of this would be just reading this post. As you can see, it is formatted in paragraphs with sub headers. Nobody wants to read a wall of text, as it’s simply hard to follow. If you’re going to make a post that is say 500 words long, then you will need to divide it into paragraphs that are structured according to the points that you’re making in your post. So if you’re reviewing a new digital camera, one paragraph could deal with the performance and the other one about the price and availability.

Include Multimedia Content

While it’s true that blogs are mainly used for sharing text, it doesn’t mean you can’t include anything else. Adding a thumbnail image that is relevant to the topic at hand will make the blog post more attractive to readers. If you need to include a photo, graphic or diagram that will provide explanation or reinforce the point that you’re trying to make, then you can do so as well. Of course, it is possible to add video content to a blog post quite easily too. Some topics, especially if you’re showing the reader how to do something, such as installing a graphics card in a computer or navigating their way around a certain piece of software, could be much easier to understand for your blog visitors if you included a video in addition to text instructions. To save bandwidth, you can host the videos on an external video sharing service like YouTube.

User Interaction and Why It Is Important

User Interaction and Why It Is Important

If you have a website of any kind, then you probably use it to either sell or promote some of your products. One of your main concerns as a webmaster would be how to make the user experience more enjoyable for your website visitors. Also, you are probably looking for ways that you can use to improve your overall search engine ranking for the keywords that your website is targeting. Both of these things can be achieved by allowing user interaction with your website. This is not something unique or radical, in fact many of the world’s biggest websites such as Amazon and eBay follow these tips, so learn from the successful guys and implement them.

  • Allow User Ratings on Your Items

If you sell merchandise, allowing your users to give a rating, usually in terms of stars, can be a very good way to have them interact with your website and give feedback on products and services that you have and that they have used. Unless you deliberately sell junk and don’t really want your customers to come back to your site (well… they might kind of complain and this annoys scammers, you know), then there should be no problem with letting your site visitors rate your products.

  • Allow Comments, Reviews and Testimonials From Users and Encourage them to Participate

This is good for SEO, as it creates unique content which is user generated, so you didn’t really need to take any action in order to put it there anyways. So it saves a lot of effort for you. Are you selling some products? Let buyers post some reviews of them. Many big name shopping sites do that, such as Amazon. Did you post a news article, blog post or made a YouTube video for your website visitors? Let them comment about it and encourage them to leave feedback, by using a call to action such as “What Do You Think of This New Service? Let Us Know Below!”. Monitor your comments to delete spam and obvious trolling or stupidity, but also keep an eye out for visitors that have a question or concern. You can then either respond to them in the comments, or ask them to communicate with you in a private way such as by email or by sending a message through your website.

  • Include Social Media Buttons

This really isn’t complicated at all. All you need to do is include buttons for social media, such as your Twitter and Facebook profiles, or your YouTube channel. You can incorporate these to your website very easily and many large companies and even government agencies now have them on their sites due to the prevalent use of social networking sites. You also don’t have to use the icons provided by the social networking sites, instead you can use custom ones that would better match the layout of your website. Of course, you could always download the trial edition of Photoshop and design the logos yourself too. Social media buttons will allow your visitors to get social with you on various networks that your business participates in.

Making Money with A Web Store

Would you like to own an e-commerce site? Many aspiring online entrepreneurs have had this idea. And in the world of online business, ideas are what matter. Remember that websites which are very powerful and have become a staple of the online business world today have all started with this: an idea.

Will you be able to be as successful as some of the big names in e-commerce right now? Maybe… but you have to be realistic and the odds of this actually happening are quite remote indeed. However, with the right ideas, business plan and execution, you will definitely be able to make some money with an e-commerce site. With the growth in online shopping, there are a lot of opportunities out there for you to make money. Here are the basic elements that you would need to think of when you start an online business of this sort:

  • Products to sell. Obviously this is the most important thing to consider when you are starting an online business. You will need to think about what you will be selling to make money from your site. This is the part of building an e-commerce site that you will want to give the most thought to.
  • A website. Since you will be selling products online, you obviously need to have a website to sell them. While some will tell you that building an e-commerce site is easy, creating one, depending on how complex you want it to be, can be a challenge. You can build a website from an “off the shelf” e-commerce platform, many of which are available for free. This will give you a “standard” or basic e-commerce site. But if you want to customize it more, you will need to either learn about things such as coding and graphic design, or hire someone else to do it for you. Your website will be the first thing that your customers see, so you obviously need to make it look good in order to make your online business appear trustworthy in your site visitors eyes.
  • Site visitors. Also know as traffic. Obviously, this is an important part of running an online business and it is also the most important one. Without any visitors to your website, there are no potential customers and therefore you will be making no money. There are various strategies that you can employ to bring some visitors to your new e-commerce website. But one thing that you need to realize is that at the beginning, growth may be quite slow. You will need to patiently build up some traffic by using various means of online promotion. There are some ways that you can use which will bring you free website visitors. However, this will require some work on your part. Also, you will need to study some of the online advertising and marketing methods if you would like to know all about the latest methods that you can use to bring some people as visitors to your site.

Efficient Article Writing

If you need to write several articles, then chances are you may sometimes find this online marketing task to be long, tedious and perhaps boring. However, it doesn’t have to be this way. There are certain things that you can do to make your article writing more efficient and less time consuming. Here are some tips for article writing:

Plan your writing first

If you are going to write several articles, then it is better for you to plan the entire task ahead of time. So, for example if you need to create 5 articles, then think of the titles and topics of these 5 articles before you start writing them. You don’t have to figure out everything that you are going to say in the article at this point, however it does help for you to get a general idea of the topic and main points.

Set aside some time for research

Some times, you can write an article, or several articles, solely off the top of your head without needing to do any research at all. This is usually the case if you are writing about a topic that you are already very familiar with. However, in some other cases you will need to do some research first.

Start doing that research before you begin writing the articles. After you have the main topic of the article, it will then be time for you to begin gathering all the information that you need to write it. Look for other articles and websites on the topic. Gather the facts, figures etc. that you need. If you are reviewing a product that you have used than take a look at the product and see what you would want to mention about it. By doing your research in advance, you will be able to make your article writing a lot more efficient and less time consuming.

Write without stopping

I find that writing an article usually goes a lot better if you simply write whatever comes to mind first and then make adjustments or corrections later on if they become necessary to do. Think of it: if you stop for 5 minutes after writing each sentence to ask yourself whether what you have written is good and to think of what you will say next, you will end up spending hours on an article that could have been finished in less than 20 minutes.

The great thing about writing on a computer as opposed to a typewriter or with pen and paper is that you can make as many corrections to your text as you want. You can add things, delete things and move entire paragraphs of text around as necessary. Therefore, save the corrections for the end, where you will proof read your article and think about whether there is something that you could have done better.
