The Pros And Cons Of Facebook Ads

Setting up a Facebook fan page can be a great way to generate traffic for your website, but it takes a lot of time and effort. If you don’t have the spare time to work on a fan page, but you do have some room in your advertising budget, you might want to think about using Facebook ads.

Facebook has over 500 million users, and they fall into every age group and demographic you can think of. When you’re setting up your Facebook ad campaign, Facebook gives you all the tools you need to reach out to your target audience. You can use parameters like age, gender, hobbies, and interests to target your ads at the people most likely to click them. If you know who your audience is, you can reach them on Facebook with these tools.

The results of using highly targeted advertising like this are generally pretty good. The odds that each person seeing your ad will click on it are pretty good, and once they make their way to your site, they’re likely to come back as long as your content is compelling.

If you’re familiar with internet marketing and advertising, you’re probably wondering how Facebook ads stack up against Google Adwords. Well, Facebook gives you more direct control over who sees your ads. With all of the options you have at your disposal you can really narrow it down, and make the most of your ad campaign. Google Adwords still has one key advantage, your ads show up in search results. In other words, your ads show up for people who are searching terms directly related to your site. Neither service is “better” than the other, they just work differently. Keep that in mind before spending your advertising budget on either service.

With over 500 million users, Facebook is a great place to reach out to your audience. The results of a Facebook advertising campaign will depend directly on your site, it’s content, and how well you know your target audience. If you have a site with compelling content, and you know your target audience, you can get a high yield for your investment in Facebook ads.

Be An Internet Marketing Success

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Be An Internet Marketing Success

When you first start out with internet marketing, success can seem very far away. There’s no guarantee that any new project you launch will succeed, and the work can be hard. There are a few things you can do to set yourself up for success though.

Build A Network

Having a network of other internet marketers, and influential people in your niche at your disposal can be a great help in launching any new project you might be working on.  You can get valuable advice that might help with your launch, as well as a little free word of mouth advertising. The easiest method for building a good internet marketing network is through social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. Do a search on either site for your niche, and for internet marketing, and try to befriend anyone who has a lot of other friends or followers. Once you’ve made some friends in internet marketing, and your niche, they can help you to launch your next project successfully.

Keep Up With Technology

The internet, and technology as a whole are constantly evolving. In order to be successful with internet marketing, you need to pay close attention to what direction the internet, and technology as a whole are taking. If you know what people are talking about online, and how they’re doing that talking, you’ll be better equipped to join in the conversation. For example, a few yars back, when social networking sites started popping up, the first people to figure out how to effectively use them as marketing tools were hugely successful. For a little while, they didn’t have a lot of competition to worry about, and as such, they enjoyed a great deal of success. If you stay on top of trends, you might find yourself getting a head start on the competition the next time a new service catches everyone’s attention.

Target Your Audience

Once you know what product or service you want to sell, you have to figure out who you plan to sell it to. You’re going to have to do a little market research about who is going to want to buy your product. Think about their age group, income bracket, and any other factors that might help you determine the right way to get their attention. With this information in hand, you’ll be able to construct a well thought out marketing campaign.

Writing Good Email Auto Responders for Your Newsletter

Writing Good Email Auto Responders for Your Newsletter

Whether you are writing your emails to your clients or you are outsourcing your writing to a ghostwriter, the most important thing is to cater to the audience you have currently.

Not the audience you wish you had.

What is the difference? A lot actually. Some emails that I get from internet marketing folks or even from big box retailers usually do not pertain to me. Sure, maybe I am cynical and a harsh customer, but I expect a lot from people sending me emails, so when they disappoint I usually unsubscribe as soon as I get to the link to click it.

When you have potential clients and clients on your mailing list, you have a problem.

Why? Because one group already knows you and your kick-butt products you sell.

The other needs to be convinced that your products are their best choice if they are going to buy “x” online.

Understand the difference? Good! Then don’t have them on the same list as each other.

Set up two (or more) lists for clients. If you have an opt in for a free report, have that as a “potential clients” list.

Then, if you have people who have bought your product, put them on a brand new list that is “buyers” because you know a few special things about them. They A) bought your product, B) Have money to spend, and C) are interested in your niche/type of products. With this you can market specific messages to them, how to get the most out of your program or other complimentary programs (down the line) that will help them boast their productivity more, or what have you. These can be your own products or products from others that you are an affiliate for.

Another thing you need to be careful of with your email auto responders is to not send them to frequently. Send an email per week and always make sure you include an opt out button at the end. Don’t spam your followers, you should just be happy they signed up for your email list in the first place!

Stay human. Don’t try to get overly complex (unless your product is on nuclear research or something), and make sure you explain everything in your email, so there are no questions left for the user to try and dig up somewhere else, you will lose subscribers easily that way.

Make Money Blogging

Make Money Blogging

If you’re reading this site, you’re probably at least somewhat familiar with blogs. Blogs are online journals used either for personal, professional, or journalistic purposes. Whatever you decide to do with your blog, there are a few tips you should keep in mind if you want it to be profitable.

First thing’s first – pick a topic for you blog. Figure out exactly what sort of content you want to put on your new blog, and think about your audience, and their wants and needs. A blog won’t be profitable if no one reads it, so your content needs to be high quality, and it needs to appeal to a broad audience.

Now that you know what topic you’re going to be blogging about, it’s time to decide where to host your blog. You can use any number of free blogging sites, like Wordpress, or Blogger, but it’s usually a better idea to host your blog yourself. Using a blogging service makes things easy – just sign up and start blogging. Unfortunately, it doesn’t allow for a lot of customization. Hosting your own blog leaves room for a great deal of customization, but it’s a little harder to set up. You’ll need to register your domain name, get a hosting package, and then set up some blogging software, like Wordpress, on your new site. It’s a little harder, but the customization options make it easy to build an attractive and engaging site.

Now that you have a blog up and running, it’s time to put some ads on it. Google Adsense, Amazon Associates, and Clickbank are easy to deal with for new comers to internet marketing and web design. All you have to do with each of those services is sign up, and paste the ad code into your blog posts. With a little effort, you can get some ads in your posts that are directly relevant to the topic of the post, which makes those ads more likely to get clicked on.

If you’re already familiar with internet marketing, consider looking for some more profitable affiliate programs to put on your site. Look for products and services that would be of interest to your target audience, and be sure to put your ads in noticeable places.

Building a profitable blog isn’t easy, but it is possible. Once you have your ads in place, remember, they won’t do you any good if no one reads your site. Put yourself out there, and do everything you can to drive traffic to your blog. If you can get it some traffic, you’ll have a profitable blog before you know it.

The Biggest Lies Free Traffic Providers Tell

The Biggest Lies Free Traffic Providers Tell

We’ve all gotten the e-mails, and seen the ads for services that claim to boost your traffic in some significant way. Usually they offer a free boost in traffic just for signing up with them, and giving them some information about yourself, which will likely then be sold to other companies for marketing purposes. Most of the claims these traffic providers make are completely false. Let’s take a look at a few of the common claims they make and the truth about them.

“We’ll submit your site to 5 thousand search engines, you’ll get so much search traffic, it will blow your mind!”

Claims like this are rarely a direct lie, but they are misleading. Sure, they will submit your site to all of the search engines they promise to submit it to, but the actual impact on your traffic won’t be anywhere near as amazing as they claim. Most of your search traffic is going to come from Yahoo, Google, and Microsoft’s Bing. The thousands of other search engines might collectively generate 100 hits per month… if you’re lucky.

“We’ll get you to the top of Google”

Again, not a direct and total lie, but extremely misleading. Services making this promise will get you to the top of Google, but it won’t be for keywords that anyone is actually searching. If you have a site about cars, and you choose to use a service like this, chances are you’ll wind up being the first search result for “how to properly eat cheese while driving your car”. Sure, you’re the first result, but who is actually searching for that? No one, that’s who.

“100% Guaranteed”

If a service is offering to boost your traffic, and they try to make lofty promises and guarantees, you should just walk away. SEO and internet marketing are extremely complicated. No one can make a blanket guarantee that your traffic will be effected in a fixed way without looking at your site, and what’s going on in your niche.

The best way to get more traffic to your site is to take the time, and effort to optimize your site for search, and post relevant and interesting content to it. If you absolutely can’t resist using a traffic boosting service, be sure to do some research before picking a service. Avoid free services that make promises like the ones above, and if you’re going to use a paid service, look up some reviews before sinking any money into it.

Google AdSense Ad Network Marketing

Google Adsense is one of the most overlooked areas of monetization of projects in internet marketing sometimes. A lot of bloggers and content creators know about Adsense, but many affiliate marketers and straight internet marketers over look it for other more lucrative offers.

The thing is, however, is that Adsense can be used alongside other offers of CPA, Affiliate links, and more. Adsense doesn’t get in the way of those offers and the bright shiny pictures of your affiliate links will overshadow the text based Adsense stuff, and that is a good thing. Adsense can be a compliment and not the major source of income, but can be a great supplemental offering.

The process to market for ad revenue from Google is fairly simple. Of course the ads which are served on your websites will have two ways of being shown on your website when using AdSense:

  1. Ads served will be based off of keywords searched through Google to bring viewers to your site.
  2. Ads will derive from relevant content on your site when they arrive from links or direct URL input.

So it is necessary to build up the content on the site to where the ads that appear are relevant to what you will want to be paid for. To look up the value of keywords you will be getting paid for, you can use the keyword tool from Google AdWords (under previous interface) to see the average cost per click of keywords and their synonyms.

Composing content for the website will then need to pull from these keywords that you want to rank for on Google and other major search engines. The content, once created with the appropriate keywords will then be posted to the site and will be indexed by Google over time. When traffic makes its way to the site and the ads are served for the content you provide, it will be more likely that the ads are targeted appropriately.

One of the important things to take note of is to never try to rank for keywords with too much competition. Although the payouts in cost per click on these ad keywords is higher, you will more than likely not rank high enough for those keywords to actually receive ads for those keywords. The best strategy is to try and rank for a range of keywords with average or little competition so that people who do see the site when they search will more likely to click ads when they arrive.

Using Forums to Market Your Website

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Using Forums to Market Your Website

Online forums are sometimes overlooked as a means to market your product or website to a large audience, but in reality, forums are still alive and thriving no matter the newest social network which comes along.

The reason forums are still a mainstay online is that they are very niche offerings. Sure, you can go to Twitter to talk about internet marketing, but 1/2 your audience might not care. On a forum dedicated to Internet Marketing such as Warrior Forum, everyone there is there to work on their internet marketing business or to learn more about internet marketing. Social networks are great for a broad market, but to get very targeted “social” interaction a forum still remains the top choice. You see the difference?

One of the main ways to use forums as a marketing tool for your website is to use the signature allowed in your posts that you create. This signature which usually can allow links (and usually dofollow links) will allow you to create numerous backlinks to your website. The more you post, the more times your link appears on different pages of the website. This is good for two reasons mainly, 1) that your link will gather you some Google “juice” (aka backlinks) and 2) that your fellow forum members might happen to click on it.

The two are very different, one is traffic for the future and the other is traffic now. It is very important however, to make sure you are providing relevant content and not spam. Forum members hate when new members come into their forum and start spamming comments that are generic or add no value to the conversation. Much like a social network such as Twitter. Make sure, for your future readers sake and your reputations sake, that you do not come off as spammy, that you promote your site in a respectable way and that you provide some sort of value to the other forum members.

Another minor way, but another way that might be important are forums with “websites” in their profiles. So when you are signing up and a forum asks for your personal website, put your product website there that you want to promote. That will provide you with one backlink at least for your effort, better than nothing, right?

Good luck and don’t be a bad forum member – make sure you follow the rules and add value to the conversation.

Marketing Your Website to drive traffic to it

Marketing Your Website to drive traffic to it

backlinksOnce your site has been search engine optimised by us you are now ready to start promoting your website.

There are several ways you can promote your website which are:

1) Search Engines natural listings (organic method)

2) PPC – Pay per click campaign with something like Google adwords

3) Newspaper, magazine adverts

4) local radio

5) Email marketing

6) leaflet drops to houses, posters in shop windows

7) Writing about your website in forums, blogs, chat rooms, social bookmark websites

The most recommend method is the organic method to get high rankings on the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, Msn etc.

Google will determine your rankings on searches by how many back links you have to your site, which means how many other websites have your link on. This lets google know that your website is very popular. If you can try to make sure that the sites that you have a back link on match the theme of your website. For example if you are an electronics website selling electronics try to have back links on other shopping website selling simalar products and services. This will make it easier for Google to understand what your website is all about.

Even better is if you can have keyword anchor text as your back links from other sites. For example instead of just putting your domain URL as a back link you could have your chosen keyword for example – cheap ipods – and when someone clicks on this they are directed to your website. This lets google know your website has cheap ipods and to place your rankings high up when someone uses this search term on google.

The HTML code to create a keyword anchor back link text is:

<a href=http://www.YOURDOMAINNAME.com>YOUR KEYWORD TEXT</a>

Another good trick is to look at your competitors and find out how many back links they have and what other websites they have their links on. This will give you some idea of how they have achieve page 1 listings on google. To find out what back links your competition has you can do the following:

1) On google get their domain name and search using their full domain name ( example – http://www.websitesforsaleworld.co.uk = over 500 back links)

2) On Yahoo.com or Yahoo.co.uk get your competitors URL and do the following entering the following in the search bar:

Linkdomain:www.yourcompetitorsurl.com

This will tell you how many back links they have and what websites they are on. A good theory is if you put your link on all the websites your competitor has, you will over time be next to them on top of Google.

A number of good ways to get back links is to try some of the following:

1) Writing up articles about your products or services that you offer with your back links within your articles using the anchor text back link
2) Writing in blogs leaving your links
3) Exchanging links with other similar websites. Usually if you look towards to the bottom of most websites they have a “Links” page that allows you to exchange links with each other
4) Submit your URL to free directories
5) Submit your URL to DMOZ. Google loves this directory, altougth it can take months to get lising on there
6) Submit your URL to social networking sites, forums
7) Use Yahoo answers and other forums to answer peoples questions with a link to your website.

List of websites to submit your website to

http://www.bestcatalog.net/seo_tips/directories.htm

Another method which you can use is setting up a pay per click campaign with Google adwords.

This works by paying Google everytime someone clicks on your link in Googles network of websites and search engine.  You can set a budget for example 0.20p per click to your site.  You can set a daily budget so you can pay for example 1,000 hits aday to your website. Another very good way to promote your website and build back links to your site is to write in forums, blogs and social bookmarking sites. For example the following: 1) Yahoo answers 2) Forums and blogs that match your niche. For example if you have a finance website, look for forums to do with finance and people looking for loans etc.. 3) Facebook. You can create a group on facebook with a link to your website and email this group to all your friends 4) Set up an email campaign and email several people your services Another option is to pay for an advert in your local paper telling them about your services and a link to your website
