The ultimate goal of any website is to get traffic. Success online rides completely on how much traffic your site gets. The more people that see your site, the better off you are. Each new visitor means a potential sale, or a potential click on one of your ads. One of the most important sources of traffic for any website is incoming links from other sites. There are a few important things you can keep in mind in order to get more incoming links to your site.

Getting other people to link to you is all about high quality content. No other tip for getting incoming links will do you any good if your content isn’t appealing to your readers. Try to think about your readers, and what sort of problems and questions they might have. Each article you write for your site should aim to solve a problem, or answer a question for your readers. If you’re helping them with a problem, they’ll be excited about your content, and they’ll be more inclined to share it with a friend.

Once you have some high quality content in place, it’s time to start getting the word out about it. Start by sharing the content with your Facebook fans, and Twitter followers. Once you’ve done that, think about all of the sites you visit on a daily basis. If you’re on any forums regularly, be sure to put your link in your signature. If you comment frequently on any blogs, make sure to fill out the “website” section of your profile. Once you are putting your content out there, it’s only a matter of time before other sites start picking it up.

If you have been putting your content out there, but you don’t feel like it’s catching on as quickly as it should, take a few minutes, and politely email the owners and editors of any large sites in your niche. Let them know about your content, and ask, again, politely, if they’d share it with their readers. They won’t all say yes, and that’s OK. If just one site larger than your own posts your link, it was worth your time.

Once you have a few links out there, the rest will basically take care of itself. As more and more people see your content, they’ll share it with their friends. As word gets around, other sites in your niche will start to talk about your content, even if you didn’t directly ask them to. Just remember, none of this matters if you don’t start with high quality content. That’s the real key to getting more incoming links.

What is the difference? A lot actually. Some emails that I get from internet marketing folks or even from big box retailers usually do not pertain to me. Set up two (or more) lists for clients. If you have an opt in for a free report, have that as a “potential clients” list.

Then, if you have people who have bought your product, put them on a brand new list that is “buyers” because you know a few special things about them. They A) bought your product, B) Have money to spend, and C) are interested in your niche/type of products. With this you can market specific messages to them, how to get the most out of your program or other complimentary programs (down the line) that will help them boast their productivity more, or what have you. These can be your own products or products from others that you are an affiliate for.

Another thing you need to be careful of with your email auto responders is to not send them to frequently. Send an email per week and always make sure you include an opt out button at the end. Don’t spam your followers, you should just be happy they signed up for your email list in the first place!

Stay human. Don’t try to get overly complex (unless your product is on nuclear research or something), and make sure you explain everything in your email, so there are no questions left for the user to try and dig up somewhere else, you will lose subscribers easily that way.

Facebook and Twitter have become a part of the lives of a great number of people, so it only makes sense to try and use those services to get your message out to your target audience. So all you have to do is sign up for them, and put up a few links to your website, and the traffic will just pour in, right? Wrong. There are a lot of things to consider before diving into marketing your site through socian networking services.

The most important thing to remember whether you’re thinking about a Facebook or Twitter account is that there has to be an actual human being running the account. Google and Bing (Microsoft) have signed a deal with Twitter which will allow tweets to be made available via search results.  This means that users searching online will get access to live results instantly via Tweets on Google and Bing.

Twitter has created a new type of online search in that in gives users real time information from users tweeting their information to their followers.  These tweets will now be available to Google and Bing which will make the online search experience more realtime in the information that is presented to the user.

Microsoft has announced that a potential deal will soon be struck with Facebook in that user status updates will be made availabe to Bings search results.

Google’s Marissa Mayer said: “Our goal is to create the most comprehensive, relevant and fast search in the world.”

 ”In the past few years, an entirely new type of data has emerged – real-time updates like those on Twitter have appeared not only as a way for people to communicate their thoughts and feelings, but also as an interesting source of data about what is happening right now in regard to a particular topic.”

Internet experts are predicting that with this new invention of real-time search this will be the next big money maker for webmasters, allowing companies the opportunity to advertise alongside the popular information in real time.

Microsoft’s Bing service has already setup a Twitter search page specifically to search for Tweets and Google will soon launch a Twitter search service within the next few months.
