Building Your Blog for Online Marketing

You’ve probably heard about how effective it can be to build a blog to help you with your online marketing efforts. It is true that if you have a website, adding a blog can be very useful, as it will deliver interesting content that will be both useful for your readers and also will be well loved by search engines like Google. This will help you rank higher for your targeted keywords and ultimately lead to more money for you in the end. Building a blog is straightforward enough, but there are some things you would need to be aware of first. You will see some of the things you can do to make your blog a more effective tool.

Choosing a Good Blog Hosting Provider

If you already have a website, then your web host will probably allow you to add another website either on its own domain, or as part of a subdomain of your existing one. If you don’t then you should sign up for a basic shared hosting account to begin. Avoid using the free services like Blogger, as they’re not really a good choice if you want to make money from your blog. A paid hosting account gives you more flexibility and reliability over the content of your blog.

Figure out How You Will Make Your Blog Profitable

If you already have a website where you’re selling your own products, one of the ways to make your blog some money for you would be to link to the relevant pages of your main website from articles posted within your blog.

But there are also other ways that you can monetize a blog even if you’re not selling anything directly online. For example, you can include affiliate links to products that you provide information on in your blog, or that are related to its content. So if your blog deals with mobile phones, you can include mobile related affiliate offers on your blog. It is also possible to add some pay per click ads from a service such as Adwords or Bidvertiser, where you will get paid for every click that someone makes on one of the ads served on your blog.

Decide What Kind of Content You Will Have On Your Blog

Of course, you need to decide on a niche for your blog. But also, you will need to determine what you will be talking about more specifically in that niche on your blog. Your blog could, for example deal with new happenings in your niche/industry. Or you could provide product reviews of products that you sell on your own site or are an affiliate of. And then there is the possibility of putting up informational and educational content that’s related to your main niche. Of course, you can also combine all of these possibilities in your blog, but it is a good idea to know what kind of posts you will be making once the blog is up.

What Type Of Blog Should You Start?

If you’ve decided to start an online business of any sort, you probably know that blogging is a great marketing tool. A blog can help you get the word out about any products you’re promoting, and adding a blog to your marketing campaign is a great idea. There are a few different types of blog you can use, and it’s important to pick the right one to suit your needs.

Personal Blog

Personal blogs are typically written from the first person perspective, and they detail the happenings of someone’s life. Personal blogs are very effective at creating a sense of trust between the blogger and the reader,  because the blogger is sharing pieces of their personal life with the reader. As you make mention of any products or services you might be promoting on your personal blog, include affiliate links to them so that you can use your blog to bring in some money. Personal blogs tend to be the easiest for people to write, but the hardest to profit from. It can be difficult to work in links to products you’re promoting without sounding fake, or impersonal, and being personal is the cornerstone of a successful personal blog.

Niche Blog

You’ve probably read at least one niche blog today – in fact you’re reading one now. A niche blog is just a blog that covers a particular topic or set of topics on a daily basis. Niche blogs are a great way to generate ad revenue. Just write about what you want to write about, and put ads related to that topic on the blog. As time goes on and your traffic grows, you’ll start generating ad revenue without even trying.

Product Blog

A product blog displays various products in an informative or entertaining way. Most of the time, those products are tied together by some common factor, and most every product displayed on the blog leads to an affiliate link so that the blog owner can generate profits from the blog. If you’re going to run a product blog, it’s very important to keep the writing high quality. If the blog is boring, or if it comes of as “spammy” to the reader, your blog won’t get very far. Whether or not a product blog succeeds is directly related to how good the write ups for each product are.

Each type of blog has some strengths and weaknesses, and it’s important to figure out which one is right for your project. Choose carefully, and you’ll have a profitable blog in your future.

Make Money Blogging

If you’re reading this site, you’re probably at least somewhat familiar with blogs. Blogs are online journals used either for personal, professional, or journalistic purposes. Whatever you decide to do with your blog, there are a few tips you should keep in mind if you want it to be profitable.

First thing’s first – pick a topic for you blog. Figure out exactly what sort of content you want to put on your new blog, and think about your audience, and their wants and needs. A blog won’t be profitable if no one reads it, so your content needs to be high quality, and it needs to appeal to a broad audience.

Now that you know what topic you’re going to be blogging about, it’s time to decide where to host your blog. You can use any number of free blogging sites, like WordPress, or Blogger, but it’s usually a better idea to host your blog yourself. Using a blogging service makes things easy – just sign up and start blogging. Unfortunately, it doesn’t allow for a lot of customization. Hosting your own blog leaves room for a great deal of customization, but it’s a little harder to set up. You’ll need to register your domain name, get a hosting package, and then set up some blogging software, like WordPress, on your new site. It’s a little harder, but the customization options make it easy to build an attractive and engaging site.

Now that you have a blog up and running, it’s time to put some ads on it. Google Adsense, Amazon Associates, and Clickbank are easy to deal with for new comers to internet marketing and web design. All you have to do with each of those services is sign up, and paste the ad code into your blog posts. With a little effort, you can get some ads in your posts that are directly relevant to the topic of the post, which makes those ads more likely to get clicked on.

If you’re already familiar with internet marketing, consider looking for some more profitable affiliate programs to put on your site. Look for products and services that would be of interest to your target audience, and be sure to put your ads in noticeable places.

Building a profitable blog isn’t easy, but it is possible. Once you have your ads in place, remember, they won’t do you any good if no one reads your site. Put yourself out there, and do everything you can to drive traffic to your blog. If you can get it some traffic, you’ll have a profitable blog before you know it.

Three Ways to Profit from Your Blog

Three Ways to Profit from Your Blog

Bloggers are making money from there blogs in a host of different ways, but there are three clear winners in terms of payout.  Advertising, sponsorships, and other writing opportunities gained are the three top earners for bloggers.  While there are many other ways to make money from blogs, we will focus on just these three for this article.

Firstly, advertising is seen on about 99% of blogs.  Why? Because it makes the most money in the easiest way possible.  Most advertising on blogs goes through Google Adsense, where you can select pre-made templates and plug the code right into your site.  Of course, there are tons more advanced customization options, but many people opt for the plug-n-play feature, which allows them to begin making money straight away.  There are many similar services such as Chikita’s Mini emails as well as Widget Bucks, both of which pay fairly well.  Bloggers can also sell their ad space privately, which makes a lot more money, but also requires time to manage.  So, it’s up to the blogger to choose.  Do they want to spend more time managing the ads to make a lot more money? Or do they just want to do a few mouse clicks and automatically have ads served on their website?

The second top way of making money for bloggers is sponsorships.  Some companies buy exclusive advertising rights on blogs.  Some also pay for bloggers to make posts about their product.  The problem with sponsored posts is that many people lose trust in the blogger for being a “sell out”, and going with the exclusive advertisement way is a much better option.  The occasional sponsored post, though, can be alright, so long as the blogger actually has some experience with the product.

Other writing opportunities gained from writing on their own blog can be a big money maker for bloggers.  Many get publishing deals for books, or columns in local newspapers, or even national ones.  Other blogs or websites might also approach bloggers with the opportunities to get paid to write for the other blog or website.  Obviously, the print jobs generally pay a whole lot more than the other online jobs, but hey, income is income, and some people have to take what they can get in this day’s economy.  Plus, there are many websites out there that will treat their writers very fairly, and of course, there are a fair share that still do not.  Bloggers choosing to work for other blogs should just be aware of what the going rate might be, and what a realistic rate should be in terms of payment per word or article.

Time Saving Tips for Bloggers

Time Saving Tips for Bloggers

Blogging can take a whole lot longer than needed.  This is generally due to the time eating activities available to the blogger on the computer while they are trying or are at least supposed to be writing.  Effectively earning money from blogs requires the blogger to be focused on updating them.

A good way to keep yourself on task is to give yourself a lot of work.  This way, mentally, you will say I don’t have time for this because I have so many articles to write.  Whereas, when you only have one or two to write, you might think that you have time to take breaks, when realistically, you do not, because time is a precious resource, and it could be used elsewhere or on something else.  Writing a lot of posts at one time can save a lot of time as well as effort, because many writers can get on a roll, where they can pump out very articles very quickly, allowing them more extra time later to work on other things.

Using a white screen writing program, or a word processor in full screen mode can be very beneficial, because then, it will be the only thing you can look at, and nothing else on the screen can possibly distract.  This obviously doesn’t account for things outside of the computer, such as the TV or people, but those can be easily minimized as well.  Working with a full screen word processor in a closed off room without a TV is the best way to ensure you are writing what you need to be.

Social media sites are the biggest time sink for bloggers.  The sites themselves are designed to keep you on them, with so many different feature and things to do, you can’t even think of them and list them all in one hour.  They keep users coming back for more, which is what they are designed to do, and should be voided at all costs when trying to write.

During your down time, while you are just browsing the web, you should have a quick and easy way to jot down blog post ideas.  This may come in the form of a program, such as Microsoft OneNote, or EverNote, or even by just, old fashioned, pen and paper.  Whatever works for you, so long as it allows you to quickly and easily record what you want to write, and the source if you need to.

How Do Bloggers Make Money ?

blog for moneyA blog can be monetised in so many different ways, for example:

  • Google Adsense (earn money from readers clicking on links on your blog)
  • Amazon Associates (earn money from referring your readers to buy products from Amazon)
  • Affiliate Marketing (earn money from referring your readers to buy products from companies you are affiliated with)
  • CPA Leads (earn money from Cost Per Action, which means referring your readers to other websites that pay you for every lead you send them e.g an email opt in form)
  • Click Bank.  Earn money from selling clickbank digital products
  • Creating an email list.  Building up an email list is a great way to make money from emailing your lists with affiliate products.

If you keep your blog updated daily/weekly your blog will grow nicely and will get good traffic coming to it and you will start to see money being made from your efforts.  Top successful bloggers are making $1,000 a day from commission.  Because they have so many readers everyday and if that reader clicks on a Google advert or clicks on any of the affiliate banners and makes a purchase the blogger earns a nice commission.

If you’re serious about making money online with your own network of blogs then I highly recommend you to join up to my membership program and watch my video tutorials on how to set-up a successful blog and drive traffic to them and make money from affiliate marketing.
