Some More Monetization Options For Your Blog

If you are creating a blog, there are various ways that you can monetize it, which simply means to make money from it. Yesterday, we have seen the two easiest and most common ways of making some profit from your blog, which are inserting pay per click ads on it, as well as putting up a donation button. But there are two other options worth mentioning. While they may be a bit more complex, they are still being used by plenty of bloggers out there and can be extremely profitable.

  • Putting up affiliate ads

The basic concept behind affiliate marketing is that you get paid a certain commission when someone clicks on an ad on your blog and either buys something, or performs a specific action such as signing up for a website. Unlike pay per click ads, you do not get paid for every click that the ad receives from a visitor.

When it comes to affiliate offers, in order to get the most success, you should use offers that are closely related to the theme of your blog. So if your blog talks about cars, for example, you could put ads for car insurance companies, which typically pay you whenever someone requests a quote from the insurance company. You can also participate in the Amazon Affiliate Program. Amazon.com is one of the world’s most popular online retailers and they sell hundreds of thousands of items in different categories. So if your blog talks about photography, you can put up some ads for photo cameras from Amazon. If someone clicks on the ad and makes a purchase, you will receive a commission based on the amount of the total sale. Remember that in order to make the highest amount of money possible, the affiliate offers that you promote on your blog should be related to its content.

The more “generic” ads such as the “shoot 3 ducks and get a free iPhone!!” banners are best avoided, since many of your readers have probably already seen them and will simply ignore them. While you can put some affiliate offers that aren’t really related to the niche of your blog, doing so is not recommended since your readers are far less likely to even click on these ads in the first place.

  • Selling your own products

This can be a good monetization option if you produce your own products, or you simply own an e-commerce site that sells certain items that could be of interest to your readers. For example, if you have a blog about technology and at the same time, you sell video game consoles and computers on eBay, you can put an ad for your eBay page inviting users to visit your online shop. To make it even more attractive for them, you could even offer a special discount code for readers of your blog. This can be a very profitable monetization choice, but of course you would need to be already involved in some form of e-commerce for you to make use of it.

Five Ways To Make Some Extra Money Online

Five Ways To Make Some Extra Money Online

Times are tough, and everyone is looking for ways to bring in a little extra money. It’s tough to figure out which methods work, and which don’t, but we’re here to help you sort it all out.

Contrary to popular belief, you can actually make some money doing online surveys and responding to email promotion offers, just not a lot of it. Small tasks like this bring in small amounts of money, but if you’re just looking to spend a little bit of time every day working towards making some extra spending money, surveys are a great way to go about it. We highly recommend treating small tasks as something of a holiday fund. If you do a lot of surveys throughout the year, and put the money they bring in aside, you might find you have a nice chunk of spending money for your next vacation.

There are a lot of opportunities for an aspiring writer to make some money online. Many sites will provide writing jobs if you can show some proficiency as a wordsmith. You’ll usually have to submit a resume, or a writing sample, so be prepared to show some credentials. Once you’re in with one of these sites, they’ll provide gigs on a regular basis. The pay isn’t always tip top, but if you can turnaround the work quickly, it will definitely be worth your time.

Signing up for Amazon and Ebay affiliate programs can also bring in a nice chunk of change. You’ll need a little bit of web design skill for this one, but the investment in time is worth the yield. Set up a site with good information about a wide variety of products, and place Ebay and Amazon ads for those products on the site. For each person that buys the product, you’ll get a small percentage of the sale. This also works through a twitter account, just be careful not to come across as being spammy.

Setting up a full fledged affiliate site takes a lot more time and research than the above-mentioned Amazon and Ebay method, but the yield is worth the work. By doing some research on what companies have high paying affiliate programs, and what questions people have about their products, you can create a highly effective site that markets products to the people that are looking for them.

Some advertisers offer Pay Per Click programs, where (as the name implies) you get paid each time someone clicks on one of your ads. The pay out is usually small, and advertisers often have very specific terms and conditions dictating how you can use their ads. If you have a high traffic website in place already, PPC ads can put a little extra cash in your pocket, just make sure you’re following the rules.

There are other ways to make money online, these are just some of the more popular ones. Before diving into any of the above mentioned methods, or something we didn’t cover, be sure to do some research. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If you do your homework, and work diligently, you’ll find yourself with a full fledged second income in no time.

Make Money With Niche Blogs and Websites

andrewHi, my name is Andrew Fitzgerald the creator of the WebsitesForSaleWorld.co.uk membership program.  I have over 10 years experience in building and marketing websites and have a network of successful blogs that are viewed by over 100,000 visitors a month.  Most of my income comes from affiliate marketing and membership websites.

As a member to my program I will show you how to set-up a network of successful websites built on WordPress.  WordPress is a content management system that is free to the public and is mainly used for Blogging.  A blog can be used as a personal diary to write daily articles about anything you like.  Nearly all online companies uses a blog, as blogging is a great way to drive traffic to your website and attract a reader base.  The reason blogs are so successful is because search engines love a website this is updated on a daily basis with unique information.

The best way to make money online is to start your own blog on any niche you like.  My advice is to set up a blog in a niche that you have a personal interest in.  For example if you’re into gadgets or electronics set-up a blog dedicated to writing reviews and news about electrical items.  If you have an interest in health and beauty set up a blog writing about the latest health and beauty products and so on.  If you have an interest in finance set up a blog about the latest news.

Now once you have chosen the niche you would like to blog about, you need to go ahead and set-up your blog (more on that later).

How Do I Make Money From Blogging? (I hear you say)

A blog can be monetised in so many different ways, for example:

  • Google Adsense (earn money from readers clicking on links on your blog)
  • Amazon Associates (earn money from referring your readers to buy products from Amazon)
  • Affiliate Marketing (earn money from referring your readers to buy products from companies you are affiliated with)
  • CPA Leads (earn money from Cost Per Action, which means referring your readers to other websites that pay you for every lead you send them e.g an opt in form)

If you’re serious about making money online with your own network of blogs then I highly recommend you to join up to our membership program and watch our video tutorials on how to set-up a successful blog and drive traffic to them and make money from affiliate marketing.

Picking Your Domain Name

When you have decided what you are going to blog about then the next step is to pick your domain name.  I recommend you pick a domain name that will have your main keyword in the URL.  A keyword is the word that is searched on Google everyday by users that will hopefully get directed to your blog.

To research what keywords are searched on a monthly basis on Google I recommend the following free tool:

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

As an example I am going to target the keyword “LCD Tvs” in this guide

Google-Keyword-Tool600

You will then be shown a list of the commonly used keywords used in that niche, with the Global monthly search volume is the amount of times a month that keyword is searched on Google worldwide and the local search volume is the country your in.  On the “Match Type” box on the right select “Phrase” and this will highlight the keyword phrase with “commas”.  Now what you want to do is go to Google.com and see what competition there is for this keyword.  What you want to do is find a keyword that has less then 50,000 competing websites because the less competition for that keyword the more likely you will rank on page 1 for that keyword.

GoogleToolResults600

For example go to Google and do the following with your chosen keyword (The keyword I chose from my list was “best flat screen tv” which has a monthly search volume of 9,900) making sure to put the quote marks around you keyword as I’ve done below:

lcdtvsearch600

Now once you have chosen the keyword you want to target, next is to search online to see if there is a domain available that has your main keyword within the domain name.

The ideal domain extensions you want are

  1. First option for .com if its available
  2. 2nd option if .com is taken is .org
  3. 3rd option if both .com and .org are taken then get .net

If all 3 extensions are taken then what you can do is add something to the end of the domain for example:

www.bestflatscreentvonline.com

www.bestflatscreenworld.com

www.bestflatscreeninfo.com

etc..

Make sure you don’t have any dashes (-) in your domain name and make sure your keyword starts at the beginning.

Once you have purchased a domain name, the next step is to set-up a hosting account so you can host your blog.
