The Right Reasons To Work Online

The Right Reasons To Work Online

A lot of people really don’t understand the true benefits to starting an online business. Some people assume it’s a walk in the park, and starting an online business means you’ll have instant success, while others assume there’s no actual money to be made online. The truth of the situation lies somewhere in the middle.

Make More Money

When you’re first starting out with an online business, it’s not likely to generate anything above and beyond some additional income. You’re not going to want to quit your job today, and start your online business tomorrow – before your profits are going to soar, you’re going to have to put in a lot of hours for little gain. With dedication, and determination, you’ll make your way to high profits, but don’t expect the road to be a smooth one.

Work When You Want To

Running an online business does give you the opportunity to set your own schedule, but it’s important to keep in mind that you’e only going to get out of it what you put in. When you’re working for yourself, no one’s going to yell at you for getting up a little late, but if you don’t put in a full day’s work, don’t expect to see a full day’s return later on. When you’re starting out, it’s extremely important to dedicate as much time to your online business as you can. There’s always something more to be done, so don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

Quit Your Job And Retire Early

If you get an online business off the ground, there’s a very good chance you’ll be able to quit your day job soon after. Retiring early is another story entirely. If you really throw yourself into your online business, and set aside as much of your profit as you can for a retirement fund, you might just be able to retire sooner than you think, but it won’t be easy. Planning for an early retirement with an online business means working very hard to ensure your business is extremely successful. It can definitely be done, but don’t expect it to happen without putting forth some effort.

Working online can lead to a lot of great things. Just remember, working online is still work. You’ll have to put in some effort to reap the rewards of having your own online business.

Quit Your Job – Start Your Online Business

Quit Your Job – Start Your Online Business

Quitting your job can be one of the most rejuvenating experiences in your life. I personally quit my job at the end of May to do the work that I do online, full time, and to try my hand at it while I still had the freedom to do so.

Quitting your job isn’t something that you should do on an impulse, however. You should calculate it out, talk with family, friends, and then determine what is best for you in the long run. Some people aren’t cut out to be their own boss, the independence and the pressure of gathering clients, and making money can be too much to bare for some people. Those people are better off staying to work for someone else, until they are comfortable holding their entire life in their hands (financially).

It is very difficult to make your first livable wage online, I am not going to lie. I am in the situation where I have some room to breathe as I am still a student in university. IT is a whole different ballgame when you have a family to feed, bills to pay, and a home to provide for.

The first thing you need to do is to start slowly. Start working 1 hour per day after (or preferably before) work each day. Take that time to get started in what you want to do. If you want to be a copywriter start trying to get some small paying jobs and bring in $10-20 per hour for that hour you are working. If you make $10 per day for 6 days a week, that is $240 per month, or an additional $2880 per year. Now you can see where things are going. That is a vacation for the family for a week (or two) or almost a car payment for a new (used car).

Once you start getting into your business a little more you can start to transition. I wouldn’t recommend quitting your job unless you can make 65% of your normal income out of the gate the day after you quit your job. Especially if you need to support a family.

By taking things slow, you have a better chance of making errors early (when you are still employed) rather than making them when it could be a big deal for you or your family. Start out working 7-10 per week on your internet business and then take it from there, good luck!

The Right Way To Advertise On Your Site

The Right Way To Advertise On Your Site

Many people start new websites in the hopes of bringing in massive amounts of money through advertising. You can actually bring in a great deal of money through internet ads, but it’s not a simple process. You can’t just start a site, throw some ads on it, and get rich. You have to do some research and pick an advertising plan that suits your site.

Pay per click advertising programs like Google Adsense have some serious potential to bring in revenue. Google Adsense in particular, can be very effective, because it presents your visitors with ads based on the content on your site. If someone’s reading your site, chances are they are interested in your niche. The ads on your site will be directly relevant to that niche and as such, your visitors will be more likely to click them. The major drawback to services like Adsense is the payout. Each click might only bring in a few cents. By placing these ads in prominent positions on your site, you can increase the number of clicks each ad will get.

Amazon’s affiliate program is another great source of ads for your site. Amazon sells just about everything you could want from cookware to video games, and there’s sure to be a product somewhere in their catalog that suits your audience. Take the time do do a little research about your audience, and your niche. Try to figure out what products they would be most interested, and post ads for them on your site. It helps if you can find unique products that your visitors may not have heard of before. They’ll be a little more inclined to click the ad if it’s for something they are interested in, and haven’t seen before.

If your site has an e-mail list, or an RSS feed, don’t forget to include them in your advertising strategy. It’s important to remember that your website isn’t the only place your visitors absorb your content. If your users are getting your content through any other method, then they should also be getting your ads that way too.

By carefully considering your audience, and the ways they get your content, you can put together an effective advertising strategy that will be sure to increase your total revenue significantly over time.

Use Article Marketing To Your Advantage

Use Article Marketing To Your Advantage

Making money by using article marketing can be a little tricky, but under the right circumstances, it can also be very profitable. Before you jump into article marketing, take a minute and think about what you’re marketing, and what you want to get out of article marketing. Do you have a website of your own? Do you sell products of your own? Are you relying on affiliate programs to generate income?

If you’re starting with a clean slate, the very first thing you should do is set up a website. If you produce a product of any sort, an site dedicated to that product will do just fine. If not, consider launching a blog, or other informative site that you can post affiliate links on. Whatever you decide to do with your website, make sure it has the potential to generate income. After all, what’s the point of marketing your site if it can’t bring in any profit?

Now that you know what you’re marketing, it’s time to start writing some articles. Sites like Ezine Articles let you post articles on a variety of different topics. Each article you post can be an indirect advertisement for you, your website, and any products or services you might offer. It’s important to keep that in mind as you write your articles. Each article should contain a link to your site. That’s pretty obvious. What might not be so obvious, is that each article should also be SEO friendly. Your article (and by proxy, your site) will get some attention from regular visitors to the article directory you submitted your work to, but a good portion of your traffic is going to come from search engines. Remember to use keywords in the title of the article whenever possible, and the body of the article should be keyword rich.

Having an SEO friendly article on an article directory like Ezine Articles can help you in a few different ways. If the article itself is SEO friendly, more people will find it, and some of  those people will click through to your site. Sites like Ezine Articles have bene around for a while, and as such, they have a fairly high volume of traffic, and they also tend to come up high in search all on their own. By having a site like that linking to your site, you’re increasing your own search rank.

By writing SEO friendly articles on article directories, and linking them back to your own site, you can bring in some traffic, and boost your search rank all in one shot. At the end of the day, more traffic leads to more revenue, and that’s never a bad thing.

Make Money Blogging

Make Money Blogging

If you’re reading this site, you’re probably at least somewhat familiar with blogs. Blogs are online journals used either for personal, professional, or journalistic purposes. Whatever you decide to do with your blog, there are a few tips you should keep in mind if you want it to be profitable.

First thing’s first – pick a topic for you blog. Figure out exactly what sort of content you want to put on your new blog, and think about your audience, and their wants and needs. A blog won’t be profitable if no one reads it, so your content needs to be high quality, and it needs to appeal to a broad audience.

Now that you know what topic you’re going to be blogging about, it’s time to decide where to host your blog. You can use any number of free blogging sites, like Wordpress, or Blogger, but it’s usually a better idea to host your blog yourself. Using a blogging service makes things easy – just sign up and start blogging. Unfortunately, it doesn’t allow for a lot of customization. Hosting your own blog leaves room for a great deal of customization, but it’s a little harder to set up. You’ll need to register your domain name, get a hosting package, and then set up some blogging software, like Wordpress, on your new site. It’s a little harder, but the customization options make it easy to build an attractive and engaging site.

Now that you have a blog up and running, it’s time to put some ads on it. Google Adsense, Amazon Associates, and Clickbank are easy to deal with for new comers to internet marketing and web design. All you have to do with each of those services is sign up, and paste the ad code into your blog posts. With a little effort, you can get some ads in your posts that are directly relevant to the topic of the post, which makes those ads more likely to get clicked on.

If you’re already familiar with internet marketing, consider looking for some more profitable affiliate programs to put on your site. Look for products and services that would be of interest to your target audience, and be sure to put your ads in noticeable places.

Building a profitable blog isn’t easy, but it is possible. Once you have your ads in place, remember, they won’t do you any good if no one reads your site. Put yourself out there, and do everything you can to drive traffic to your blog. If you can get it some traffic, you’ll have a profitable blog before you know it.

The Biggest Lies Free Traffic Providers Tell

The Biggest Lies Free Traffic Providers Tell

We’ve all gotten the e-mails, and seen the ads for services that claim to boost your traffic in some significant way. Usually they offer a free boost in traffic just for signing up with them, and giving them some information about yourself, which will likely then be sold to other companies for marketing purposes. Most of the claims these traffic providers make are completely false. Let’s take a look at a few of the common claims they make and the truth about them.

“We’ll submit your site to 5 thousand search engines, you’ll get so much search traffic, it will blow your mind!”

Claims like this are rarely a direct lie, but they are misleading. Sure, they will submit your site to all of the search engines they promise to submit it to, but the actual impact on your traffic won’t be anywhere near as amazing as they claim. Most of your search traffic is going to come from Yahoo, Google, and Microsoft’s Bing. The thousands of other search engines might collectively generate 100 hits per month… if you’re lucky.

“We’ll get you to the top of Google”

Again, not a direct and total lie, but extremely misleading. Services making this promise will get you to the top of Google, but it won’t be for keywords that anyone is actually searching. If you have a site about cars, and you choose to use a service like this, chances are you’ll wind up being the first search result for “how to properly eat cheese while driving your car”. Sure, you’re the first result, but who is actually searching for that? No one, that’s who.

“100% Guaranteed”

If a service is offering to boost your traffic, and they try to make lofty promises and guarantees, you should just walk away. SEO and internet marketing are extremely complicated. No one can make a blanket guarantee that your traffic will be effected in a fixed way without looking at your site, and what’s going on in your niche.

The best way to get more traffic to your site is to take the time, and effort to optimize your site for search, and post relevant and interesting content to it. If you absolutely can’t resist using a traffic boosting service, be sure to do some research before picking a service. Avoid free services that make promises like the ones above, and if you’re going to use a paid service, look up some reviews before sinking any money into it.

Five Ways To Make Some Extra Money Online

Five Ways To Make Some Extra Money Online

Times are tough, and everyone is looking for ways to bring in a little extra money. It’s tough to figure out which methods work, and which don’t, but we’re here to help you sort it all out.

Contrary to popular belief, you can actually make some money doing online surveys and responding to email promotion offers, just not a lot of it. Small tasks like this bring in small amounts of money, but if you’re just looking to spend a little bit of time every day working towards making some extra spending money, surveys are a great way to go about it. We highly recommend treating small tasks as something of a holiday fund. If you do a lot of surveys throughout the year, and put the money they bring in aside, you might find you have a nice chunk of spending money for your next vacation.

There are a lot of opportunities for an aspiring writer to make some money online. Many sites will provide writing jobs if you can show some proficiency as a wordsmith. You’ll usually have to submit a resume, or a writing sample, so be prepared to show some credentials. Once you’re in with one of these sites, they’ll provide gigs on a regular basis. The pay isn’t always tip top, but if you can turnaround the work quickly, it will definitely be worth your time.

Signing up for Amazon and Ebay affiliate programs can also bring in a nice chunk of change. You’ll need a little bit of web design skill for this one, but the investment in time is worth the yield. Set up a site with good information about a wide variety of products, and place Ebay and Amazon ads for those products on the site. For each person that buys the product, you’ll get a small percentage of the sale. This also works through a twitter account, just be careful not to come across as being spammy.

Setting up a full fledged affiliate site takes a lot more time and research than the above-mentioned Amazon and Ebay method, but the yield is worth the work. By doing some research on what companies have high paying affiliate programs, and what questions people have about their products, you can create a highly effective site that markets products to the people that are looking for them.

Some advertisers offer Pay Per Click programs, where (as the name implies) you get paid each time someone clicks on one of your ads. The pay out is usually small, and advertisers often have very specific terms and conditions dictating how you can use their ads. If you have a high traffic website in place already, PPC ads can put a little extra cash in your pocket, just make sure you’re following the rules.

There are other ways to make money online, these are just some of the more popular ones. Before diving into any of the above mentioned methods, or something we didn’t cover, be sure to do some research. Remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. If you do your homework, and work diligently, you’ll find yourself with a full fledged second income in no time.

Google AdSense Ad Network Marketing

Google Adsense is one of the most overlooked areas of monetization of projects in internet marketing sometimes. A lot of bloggers and content creators know about Adsense, but many affiliate marketers and straight internet marketers over look it for other more lucrative offers.

The thing is, however, is that Adsense can be used alongside other offers of CPA, Affiliate links, and more. Adsense doesn’t get in the way of those offers and the bright shiny pictures of your affiliate links will overshadow the text based Adsense stuff, and that is a good thing. Adsense can be a compliment and not the major source of income, but can be a great supplemental offering.

The process to market for ad revenue from Google is fairly simple. Of course the ads which are served on your websites will have two ways of being shown on your website when using AdSense:

  1. Ads served will be based off of keywords searched through Google to bring viewers to your site.
  2. Ads will derive from relevant content on your site when they arrive from links or direct URL input.

So it is necessary to build up the content on the site to where the ads that appear are relevant to what you will want to be paid for. To look up the value of keywords you will be getting paid for, you can use the keyword tool from Google AdWords (under previous interface) to see the average cost per click of keywords and their synonyms.

Composing content for the website will then need to pull from these keywords that you want to rank for on Google and other major search engines. The content, once created with the appropriate keywords will then be posted to the site and will be indexed by Google over time. When traffic makes its way to the site and the ads are served for the content you provide, it will be more likely that the ads are targeted appropriately.

One of the important things to take note of is to never try to rank for keywords with too much competition. Although the payouts in cost per click on these ad keywords is higher, you will more than likely not rank high enough for those keywords to actually receive ads for those keywords. The best strategy is to try and rank for a range of keywords with average or little competition so that people who do see the site when they search will more likely to click ads when they arrive.

Using Private Label Rights Products to Promote Your Site

Using Private Label Rights Products to Promote Your Site

Private Label Rights (PLR) products are products that you can use for a variety of projects, including rewriting it, putting your name on it, or sending it to your newsletter readers for free.

All PLR products have different rules about what you can use them for, but in reality your options are pretty limitless.

Podcasting
As a podcaster, one of the hardest things about it is the research on the topic and finding information on your subject and getting it together so you can easily access it for your recording session.

PLR products can be used for great podcasts. You can simply read the article from the PLR pack and use it as your free audio content. It will save you a ton of time when it comes to researching your subject. It is a lot less work to record off a PLR article then improvise your responses and tidbits of information in between the PLR content. It can produce a really unique podcast with some great information.

Make it into an eBook
Taking PLR content and repackaging it into a eBook could be a great idea. If you take the 10 articles for example from a pack of articles you bought, you could easily create a PLR product yourself, or an eBook to sell to your readers, etc. Each article could be a chapter of your eBook or whatever you want. You can be as creative as you want with this. It is such a great idea to get a cheap and very easy eBook created, as most PLR is less than $15, you can do the rest of the work and have an eBook in no time. Adding more information, some photographs, and some nice graphics can really make the eBook an enticing offering for sale or giveaway.

Make sure you read the terms of the PLR before you do this however. Many packages have the same restrictions on them, for example most you can not sell master resale rights (as in, the other people can do whatever they want with them), and others do allow all access.

Have fun when you buy PLR content, try to do some creative things with it and create a unique product from everyone else. Do not buy PLR just to buy PLR though, as it tends to accumulate on your desktop and never get used. If you are going to buy it, plan on using it right away.

How Many Blogs Should You Own?

How Many Blogs Should You Own?

The number of blogs you should own is up for debate in a lot of forums and blogs that I read, so I thought I would weigh in on the topic.

I write for about 4 or 5 blogs as a writer personally, and I make sure that I do not take on more clients than that. I love the writing aspect of blogging, but not the promotion and business end of it. I prefer to write great content that brings visitors back again and again, and leave it up to the site owners to get the readers (you!). There is so much more to running a successful site than writing content and you must be conscience of that before jumping into 10 different niches.

With that being said, I think that the happy number of blogs you should own, at most is 4 or 5.

Why?

It really is simple, if you get stretched to thin trying to write on to many different topics and niches you are going to burn out really bad, really fast. It takes a lot of work to manage a successful blog. You need to write new content every day, do social media and promote the new posts, bookmark, do SEO, comment on other people’s blogs, post on forums related to your niche, and more. You simply can’t do it for more than 5 blogs, you will burn out.

Of course, if you hire out help for writing content, promoting the blog, SEO, and other aspects of your business, you can do more. But as a general rule if you are running the blog yourself no more than 4 or 5 blogs.

The reasoning behind this is because it takes about 1.5 hours per day to write that new content for each blog. Maybe closer to 2.5 hours, depending on your niches and how comfortable you are writing able them. So factoring that in, you have 2 hours per day in sheer writing on average, plush everything else you have going on. One tip, if you have 5 blogs, rotate your promoting every day. On day one promote blog A, day two blog B, etc. That way you can focus your energy on that one blog and not try to do everything at once.

Once you start getting traffic to your first few blogs you can start to expand, at this point you should have some cash-flow and be able to outsource some hired help to manage your blogs and update them for you. Focus your attention on what you are passionate about and write for those niches only at first, then build into other areas.
